The most common problem that seems to be plaguing this unit is disc skipping and not reading the disk, I purchase a brand new model same as this and after awhile I started to experience similar problems, it was so frustrating but after looking for a solution online I found a simple fix that is simply to turn on the unit and let it warm up for at least 5 minutes even though the web site recommended 6 hours minimum , after doing that my unit plays just as intended.

Mine used to play perfect, 2 years in. Now it skips at 36 secs and 1:10 on every disc it attempts to play. Love to sound quality of this unit. Thought this video was a how to fix or a more thorough look on the inside. Oh well.

@@John-pt9nx No, I did not, tried to fix it, even had a really good tech friend go over it and no cigar on the repair. So I spent days combing the internet for a replacement unit. Settled on a SONY CDP-CE500 5Disc CD Changer, it was the only unit that received 5 stars on every review over and over again. Since they discontinued this model in 2014, prices were pretty high on what was available on E-bay, Amazon ect. Finally found a mom and pop thrift store on E-bay that had an open box that was their own personal player that they actually never used for $300. This unit has beautiful sound and plays flawlessly, love this player, it's not the Onkyo but hey at least it doesn't skip and is truly a reliable CD player. My friend bought the Onkyo for his automotive garage on my recommendation, his too is also skipping now...💿

I have no disk problem ....anyone have idea what could be problem...at one point i was able to play disk...turned it off again same no disk problem

you don't have problem, why should I have idea what can be the problem that you don't have? you could play a disc, you turn it off, again you ask the same: no problem. *can you understand your own language* ?

clean the optical lenses. cotton clean and alcohol a little. there are videos Clean LAser Player Disc. *if it does not work, maybe there is internal fail (wire or chip)* if the CD PLAYER is very old model, that's the reason, the old age of the laser .🤔
