Nice work! much appreciate you sharing it with us. I'm not a big fan of the click baitish title. I had to jump to the end to see if it was worth watching. Something more like "I build a pedestal grinder from scratch" would get me to watch it proper with no tricks.
@battleminion

I was thinking the same many channels are jumping to click bait names, it's more difficult to distinguish between 5 minutes craft ideas channels and, channels with awesome content like this one

I agree, what would even better is if the guy make it a "voice over instructional" video. But the whole: "Hey look, I made a thing from scraps!" so give me 10-some minutes of your life n watch this with crappy canned music

Your grievance is with KZbin and it's algorithms promoting click bait over episodic or instructional videos... To compete for those views, the algorithm must be appeased.

Did the same thing, watched 1 minute, jumped to the middle watched for 30 seconds and then the last 1 minute.....love the work but to much time spend on the lathe, as I live to watch great craft men and woman, the build is the end result.....if I want to watch a lathe video, there is just that on KZbin.

Keep up the fantastic work, I really enjoy watching. Your stuff is thought provoking, and it makes me say to myself "look what you missed when you had an opportunity to learn in metal shop when you were in school". P.S I especially liked your video when you built your own version of an electric scooter, and at my age "74" in March, I really dig the idea of learning how to ride an EUC (electric unicycle ) so, having said that, could you build an electric unicycle? It might take some research on your part to design the electronics to make it work the way they work commercially, however judging from what I've seen you do, it would be a piece of cake! Keep making Great things happen!

So many questions. Do you come up with your own designs to accommodate your shop? The drill in the vice with the spinning plate steel? Cutting it with an angle grinder? If i tried that? 🤣🤣 I'd probably chop off all my fingers! I can use a grinder fairly well. You're a top notch creator! You are also an over the top fabricator! Absolutely amazing every time!!

Bench or pedestal grinders always have a reverse thread nut on the left hand side wheel. Without it being threaded this way the nut tends to loosen slightly each time the grinders used. Eventually, if you're lucky, you'll turn it on, the shaft spins up, and leaves the loose wheel just freewheeling. If you're unlucky, the nut falls off in use, drops to the bottom of the guard, wedges between the spinning wheel and one of the guards captive nuts, and if the wheel still has enough momentum when this happens it'll shatter with an impressive level of explosive force. I'd be tempted at bare minimum to fit a second lock nut to that side, or maybe drill the spindle and nut, then lock wire it in place when fully tightened. Either way, you'll still need to give the tightness of that nut a check regularly. Apart from that one thing, it looks very nicely thought out and made.

one of the best producers of DIY videos, great editing quality, fun, good ideas, very skillful, I don't understand why they are not better placed in visits, perhaps they could study the titles better, and add a more impressive image to their heads. They are the hooks that many youtuber use to increase visits in their shitty videos.
