This is a wonderful and beautiful project idea! TYFS! I know alot of people are concerned about the handles not being sturdy or the cardboard won't hold over time; remember folks, this is crafting on a budget. She gives you the ideas and YOU RUN WITH IT! Some of you have wonderful ideas on how you would upgrade the project so If you want to spend a little more on your project, fine go ahead and do that to make it as sturdy as it will make you comfortable. Suggestion: E6000 glue (it does have a 24 hr cure) is a great strong permanent glue to use along with your hot glue for quick adhering. Then make sure you let it sit over night so the E6000 can cure. Gorilla Glue makes Hot Glue sticks also. You can buy those at your local Walmart. They're great! I hope everyone has a great time crafting! Most of all, have fun!

I like your projects. Thanks for teaching us. To even strengthen the blocks more, I would layer the blocks in a brick pattern; starting with the top layer by placing the center of the first one over where 2 bottom blocks connect like layering bricks in a building. Also, when drilling holes in small prices of wood, to prevent splitting, always put a piece of paper tape on top it and drill through it.

Love those coasters from DT. I buy them too. I love the different designs they have and they also have the ones with "sayings" on them..i made a tray too but with old kitchen cabinet door.. Those blocks was a great idea too..love the handles too. I had used kitchen drawer handles i got for .50 at a thrift store.. So fun to do.
