I'm not a crafter but I really appreciate you sharing what you love with us! Moma used some of your techniques in her projects and I wish I could show you some of her creations but I don't know how KZbin works! I'm not even sure you'll see this but I want to thank you for bringing joy to my Moma's last few years! Please stay safe, keep crafting and God be with us all!!

Being a seamstress for most of my life, I find it hard to trust hem tape. It's more of a temporary fix for me. Maybe it's come along since I last used it, but I'm curious how much weight the handles will hold? This is an adorable idea, and I do have some unused towels that I could make beach bag for our granddaughter that lives within minutes of the ocean. I'll use my sewing machine though as this idea would easily transfer for it. Thanks so much.
@caldy2064 жыл бұрын
Olive I believe you are right. Hem tape is meant to hold a hem up not a tote full of stuff. Especially since it is a terry cloth towel.

Olive I agree

The handles were hot glued on. Js
@OrganizeCreateDecorate4 жыл бұрын
@@MimiMcWil Thanks Mimi. Hot glue can be temporary too if it gets too hot, but it would most certainly hold better than hem tape in this situation.
@wendyfay164 жыл бұрын
If you sew it with your sewing machine, you can then fold the towel and handles in on themselves so that they fold into the pocket, so that it's the bag and a cushion. I'm sure you will find it if you search for Quillow. It's better if the pocket is the same fabric inside and out so that it looks good both ways. If I wasn't so shy I'd do a heap of these things that make doing so many things a lot quicker, easier, but without being flimsy. For example, using a long piece of ribbon, or something similar to make both turning the fabric back to the right side, and then to easily put the toweling strip inside the casing, each only taking one quick step ...my friends often tell me that I should do it when they see me come up with an unusual way of doing things, but it's because I've been paralyzed several times during my life before things were invented for the things I needed or wanted to do, or was too expensive, so I've had to think outside the box. They say that necessity is the mother of invention and that's certainly been the case for me. I have the ideas but not the confidence to even speak on camera, let alone face to face on camera.

I have difficulty hearing clearly and near the end of your video I thought you said we all had a lot of time on our hands due to this Florentine Time. I was puzzled for a minute or so trying to figure out what Florentine Time was. I laughed when I realized you actually said quarantine time. Your videos do indeed transfix the viewer. I was lost in visions of taking my new bag to the beach, and completely forgot about this season we are enduring, which actually sounds much nicer referred to as Florentine time. God bless you, Kelly. Keep the videos coming. Pray your family is well.

This is a really cute project. I can see something like this being great for taking to the pool or on a weekend trip to put wet/dirty clothes in to take home. It would also make a great sleepover bag: big enough kids can just throw their clothes in, maybe even a board game! I'm thinking of doing one with denim stash to store all of my big acrylic rulers in. That is just adorable! I have never use that iron on heat bond, and I’m raring to try it now!I always sew everything, but now I want to check out that heat and bond. The only thing that I would do differently, would be to sell across the bottom on both corners to make it more three dimensional, and I would add a piece of cardboard or something stiff in the bottom covered in fabric. This would be removable when washing the bag. I’m new to your channel, and I’m really enjoying all of your DIY‘s. Thank you!

I LOVEEEEE this! I'm the kind of person who likes to give "personal" gifts. I put a lot of thought into things I give as gifts, ESPECIALLY when it's family! One of my baby sisters is about to have her 4th baby girl any day now, so I keep thinking 💭 DIAPER BAG! Now not for that "everything" diaper bag, but to just run to the store or something quick, you can toss a couple of diapers, a small thing of baby wipes, a bottle, etc....{even a little emergency change of clothes} Maybe even a few little travel size items like powder, lotion, diaper rash cream.... Now that I say all of this, an adorable homemade bag FILLED WITH several of these goodies sounds like a great little gift! ALSO, I had a quick question.... I bought a little package of the plain white, soft cotton flour sack or tea towels that I've been trying to think of a way to "cutesy" them up to make BURP RAGS! Have you ever made those and if SO, do you have any videos? I keep thinking ruffles or lace or SOMETHING since they are just plain white, but I wouldn't want anything too stiff or scratchy JUST IN CASE that part got accidentally used against the skin.... 🤔 YEARS AGO, I used to make burp rags using those which were actually called "PREFOLDED CLOTH DIAPERS" but I don't know if they stopped making those or what but I've not seen them in a while... ANYHOOZIE, I'd love some inspiration/ideas! And if ANYONE can come up with a keyoot idea, I know YOU CAN! Thank you sweetie! Hope you have a super sparkly day! XO from TEXAS! 🤠

I love this idea. I crochet and make a lot of baby afghan as shower gifts. I am going to make this bag to put them in instead of gift wrapping. With a baby who doesn't need an extra tote bag!? Hope Ray is continuing to improve. My prayers are with you.

Taking that bag to the beach on a hot summer day ; the glue is more likely to soften and give away under to much weight . I'd go over it and pound in rivets at the stress points .

Fabulous DIY. I've made many large tote style bags also, but I've always sewed mine. I like the idea of pictures on it. I always sewed patches & whimsical buttons on mine. TFS another way of doing this using a towel. Very creative! Love your videos! Hope your son is doing better. Stay safe! Hugs from Pa. 💙🙏💙. 💜💐🌷🌺💜

Hello, I like some of your DIY’s. I just wonder why you do not show the DIY you are going to be making before you start ? We have to watch your whole videos till the end to actually see what it’s going to be. 🤔
