Hi Karen, I found that cleaning off some dust from back of the canvas is best done with a dry soft brush. Using a cloth may smear or spread the dirt. Brush is also great for cleaning carved items.loved your video...like always!

I work as the clerk for a local auctioneer in Mill Hall, PA, writing the item description, recording the winning bids and bidder number. It's a lot of detailed work! A lot of resellers attend his auctions. Sometimes I think they pay too much for what they can sell the item for. It is so much fun seeing what people buy! He allows his workers to bid on stuff too, so I usually get some neat things, I'm not a reseller though, I just like stuff!

Boreas is god of the north wind. In Minnesota we have a winter carnival where each year the Vulcan Krewe defeats King Boreas,driving him out so winter will end. Winter does “eventually’’ end. A fun event for all except Boreas. 😉 We need something fun to break up our long winters. 😊. If you google Minnesota winter carnival you can see pictures.

That angel was the one we had on our tree when I was a child. My sister has it now,with wings my dad replaced probably 40 years ago. She brings back such wonderful memories of our childhood. Primitive bowls and baskets are two of my favorite things. You hit the jackpot, imo!!😊
@breathofhome6315Ай бұрын
Use a paintbrush on the back of the vintage canvas painting to get the dust off then pat with a moist(not soaking wet) cloth to lift off any light staining. If the painting canvas is wavy/ warped you can pour hot water on the back and shake off the excess water and let dry in a warm area(do NOT put in sun); you can use a hair dryer on warm(not hot) to dry the water and the canvas will tighten( don't place the dryer too close to the painting).

Karen, I totally agree about the HH angels, the buyer over paid. Once you add the time spent listing, the space needed to store them safely before they sell, and the packing materials needed for shipping safely, there is not much profit left in them. One commenter mentioned seeing a lg set on ebay.....,to me it makes sense to sell each one separately or maybe pairs because most people, including collectors, dont want 5-6 in the same color. The paintings you got are so nice! The watercolor looks like England to me and I know Paul McCartney paints so maybe its one of his!! Wouldnt that be amazing, especially for $2.

Love the auction preview. I’ve never been to a preview. My father in law ran a garden center for 59 years. He sold Christmas trees, lights and ornaments. I have an angel ornament probably from the 40’s. It’s a fairy with wings and a wand. She has a ceramic head that’s beautiful. Her ballroom skirt and wings are metal. It’s like fine necklace chain woven together and surrounds a metal frame. It could have been a tree topper back then. Unfortunately I never noticed it on my in laws tree to find out its history. It’s my favorite ornament.
