Helping visitors discover firsthand the friendliness of kindly treated sheep, their individual personalities and the complex relationships within a herd are some of the objectives of farmed animal sanctuaries. Sentient animals seeking contentment…not commodities. Hiding treats at night, then turning off the lights is another version dogs enjoy. The nose knows :) Thanks for your efforts to entertain viewers!

What an adorable video Tori 😻 if that doesn't make a viewer feel all warm and fuzzy inside then nothing will😊. I totally adore all the animals and clearly they couldn't get enough of you. The scenery looks like paradise and you obviously got some beautiful weather while you were there. My mother used to keep sheep, I remember them being so naughty and mischievous🐑🤣. I love the way they wouldn't leave your tripod alone. It's great you're showcasing farm animals in a different light. At least this shows people out there that sheep are sensitive and emotional, they enjoy a hug which is not at all obvious to people when they walk down the meat aisle of the supermarket. I'm pleased that you are receiving some well-deserved healing 🏥 through your animal interactions, may that continue!❤
@missnancysdayoff3 ай бұрын
thank you! they were really precious weren’t they. the weather was perfect for two weeks then I felt and it rained 😅 but i have had great luck with the weather since i drove north there is no doubt! the sheep were sooo curious it’s really funny. and they are so sweet, we are so disassociated from what we are eating it’s great to spend time with the animals and really understand the creature who is dying just so someone can eat a lamb chop 😭 thank you it is doing me good being around animals ❤️
@Melatiah3 ай бұрын
@@missnancysdayoff I remember talking to a local farmer about the lambing season. He spoke very passionately about how he and his wife would work together in shifts to make sure all the expectant mothers were not on there own during the births. Even with a crackle in his voice he would describe helping the mothers bare their offspring yet there was still a disconnect that the fate of those lambs was somehow inevitable. The cracks were appearing because he admitted that his wife would give all sorts of reasons why various lambs would not be sold for meat. I think she could see as a mother how crazy this practice was. When I look back on this from my current situation where I have the great fortune and pleasure to spend some of my time planting, transplanting, growing and harvesting vegetables on an organic farm, why would we produce food in any other way? Nothing beats the instant gratification of picking a tomato off the bush and eating it, the flavours are unbeatable and nothing had to die in the process. Recently when we had a glut of cucumbers I repurpose some of them as throwing sticks for our farm dog to retrieve which he did gladly. Actually he quite likes pinching the odd beetroot or potato to have a nibble on. I've been alarmed on more than one occasion seeing beetroot juice around his mouth and paws thinking he had hurt himself. 😱🤣❤
@missnancysdayoff3 ай бұрын
@Melatiah that’s it, in order to do the things we do to farm animals we are forced to suppress all natural feelings and compassion to the point we don’t even realise that is what we are doing. Breaking that wall back down and reconnecting with our true feelings is such a liberating experience, even if it does make you sad about the rest of the world. Your farm sounds amazing and it’s like you say, why would we do anything else? Picking fresh ever a table and eating them the best experience, i so hope i can grow e vegetable one day! ❤️
@Melatiah2 ай бұрын
@@missnancysdayoff Exactly! I'm optimistic that the world will change. Now with climate change there are more reasons than ever for people to move to a plant centered diet. I believe you will manifest that desire to grow vegetables one of these days! ❤

@@missnancysdayoff a number of moons ago a friend, who was a civil engineering was tasked with identifying the route of a new road through a small mountain range. He completed the task in a few days, solo. Several ‘experts’ challenged as he did it so quickly and spent nearly 2 months checking the route before they accepted my friend was correct. Naturally, I was curious and asked him how he had identified the route so fast. He explained he hadn’t - he used a donkey and simply followed it spray painting the route. True story. Much smarter than many realise.
