It's because it's the biggest arena in the Finnish league. TPS has 2nd highest amount of attendance per game in the league, so when there is room for around 11k people and about 5k people attend, it's gonna look empty.

It's a shame that probably the two best arenas, aside from "Gatorade Center" (former HK Areena), are not in the league anymore. The biggest arena in Finland, the Hartwall Arena, is used by Jokerit Helsinki, who play in the KHL nowadays, and the Espoo Metro Areena used to be the home of the Espoo Blues, a team that went bankrupt about two years ago, and is now the home of a team called Espoo United, that plays in the second highest league.

Oh yeah the gatorade center does not use the other side of the upper decks only in the playoffs they use it because of revenue oh yeah and great video loved it hope you make a video about the finnish 2nd league mestis

You really should do a quick follow up video about the Metro arena (formerly known as Barona arena or Länsiauto arena) in Espoo. It has the biggest rink in Finland and as a former fan I'd say it was definitely my favorite one. Also regarding the events that surrounded the team that used to play out of Espoo, Blues, you could do a video strictly talking about the cultural differences in European and US/Canadian hockey. Fan culture, finances etc. I'd be (and im sure a lot other people would also) interested to hear your thoughts. And hey, do yourselves a favor and go see some European playoffs when you can. Not saying its going to change your life but I'd wager you'd love it. Djurgården and Turku would be great places to start. I'd also strongly recommend seeing some junior A playoffs since a lot them are played in these liiga rinks.

There's also another team in Helsinki called Jokerit which plays in the KHL. They have the biggest arena in Finland, I think. And btw the great arena in Tampere which has two teams is also the oldest arena in Finland. :)

If i May that hämeenlinna Areena was build way before what you said and its former name was rinkelimäen Areena. And the original areena was build in star of 1930s and was home areena for former Hämeenlinna team Tarmo. And homed 2 finnish championships in years 1948 and 1949. So this areena is way older than you say.

I would say that KooKoo is Kouvolan Kiekko. Not Kouvolan Kuntosali. The name is so easy for finns but it is always funny to hear international versions, alot of folks say CoCo

Im from Hämeenlinna the city of HPK. The pucks dont hit the jumbotrone that often maybe once in seven games. And in Lumon Areena Kouvola there is a sprint track behind the seats.

The team name KooKoo comes from words Kouvolan Kiekko (=Kouvola's puck/ice-hockey) as the name used to be Kouvolan Kiekko -65. The gym part is partly right because the arena has a large gym that can be used by anyone from Kouvola.

I'm from Finland so I knew all these arenas and what they looked liked but I learned a lot about ceilings haha lol. Anyway it was one to watch to see how you americans or candians (sorry don't know where you are from) react to our arenas. The pronounce part well... it was understantable on all but pronounce was funny in sometime. Anyway cool video and I will subscribe.

I really liked this video. I've been to only a few of the arenas, it was nice to have a wider view. I think I can speak for many people, the adds are really hated, but on the other hand, the allow the teams to play, so what can you do.. They tend to ruin the jerseys as well, which really feels bad, since the jerseys are usually well designed.

Am a Finn, lived there for about 34 years. Never visited a Liiga arena or saw a Finnish top tier league game. I lived a few hundred meters away from Kalpa's arena. I've always been a NHL fan and I've seen two Tampa Bay matches in Tampa with my local friend. Am a Sens fan myself so one of those two games was against them in 2012. And don't worry about the pronouncing, you're not the first and certainly not the last to make mistakes with Finnish words :D

Cool video, picture quality was pretty bad and you missed the biggest arena in the country, the Hartwall arena, home of the team Jokerit and the place for most high level international hockey in the country. Although I can see why you missed it, Jokerit doesn't play in the Liiga anymore, they went to KHL couple years ago.
