Yep, when I had my Harley, winter came, put fuel stabilizer in, drive it for 10mins, plug the battery tender in and leave it alone until spring when it was time to ride again

Purchased a left over 2015 ST-Limited (28 Feb 2019) for a very good price and within in the 1st 300 miles the shifting solenoid went out. New bike warranty covered both the towing and repair. Love that BRP warranty !!!!! Was told that the color (Matte Blue Denim) was/is rare. Whether it is or not doesnt matter. Had a '14 ST-Limited that got totaled when I was broadsided and loved that platform so was ecstatic to find this one still sitting on the show room floor. I dont buy a bike to sit in the garage and look good. I buy them to ride and pretty much ride them daily as a commute vehicle to and from work (weather permitting of course) so no worries about anything going bad from lack of use.

I own 2014 RTS not a limited but was a preowned dealer demo and loaded.Put 9000 miles on in the first year. best decision I ever made. Has gps moveable steering heated seat . I’m making it my own no plans to get rid of it. Finding a good local dealer is hard. Selling dealer went out of business . Good video

Good info, thanks. My wife's 2013 Spyder ST-S SE5 only has about 15K miles. I do take it out frequently to put miles on it when she isn't riding it. Rear tire wore out but the front tires aged out with tread left. I keep it serviced for her. Hopefully this fall and winter(best riding season here in the desert) she'll ride more. If not, someone will get a great deal on a used Spyder.

Great tech talk Shawn. I had heard that when checking the oil level on a Spyder, you should also stand on one leg, and pat your head with your left hand, while checking the dipstick with your right hand.

Love any new (for me) information on Spyders, old and new. It still confuses me, the differences between the 990s and 1330s. I recently planned a club ryde with a gas stop at 150 miles and had riders in a panic before we hit a gas station! Out here in the desert it can make a huge difference! Keep enlightening us, O Great One..! ...and be safe...

Hello from Florida! Yeah I bought a 2011 RTS 3 months ago with 10000+ on it. I didn't know that don't let sit and idle and don't ride it, until I went to bike night and a guy told me don't do that. So I've been riding it at least 5 miles every other day, when I'm not doing a ride somewhere. Please keep putting out information on the Spyders and Rykers.

Great video! A guy in town here has a 2009 sm5, has 1200 miles on it. It’s been sitting in his driveway for about 3 years. He wants, $5000 for it. Sounds like maybe not so good of a deal, huh? Thought I’d offer to jump start the thing, if it will even start. What are the chances the thing will be okay?

If you can use your right hand there are companies that can install a hand brake that's connected to the foot brake. There's a KZbin video on an owner that had it installed that can not use his legs and in a wheelchair and rides a spyder.

Very nice “Buyer Beware” explanation. Met an older Gent up in Hattiesburg Tuesday who trailered his 2016 Spyder in because he couldn’t get it into reverse. Turns out it was Operator Error. Got me one. It’s a 2021 F-3S with 705 miles on it. Rode it 3X then winter set in here in the Midwest, burrrr🥶🥶🥶. So there she sits in my garage freaking her ass off. I do have a bullet heater but don’t run it often. I took your advice. Don’t start her up and not ride it at least 9 miles. Can’t wait for the weather to break around here, got a couple more months, then the spring rain will start. Boo Hiss, I need to figure out what shield to buy for her. I want something big for the best wind protection possible to reduce buffeting. We don’t have a Helmet law where I live. I some times wear one to keep warm when it’s cold, but don’t on a regular basis. I know, I should However I have been ridding for my whole life and never wore one. You might think I’m stupid, I gu was ss I kinda am. 😳🤫

100 miles per month an impossibility in the PNW? Ha, I got my endorsement last year, bought a CB500X in October, that in the 7 years it was owned had a whopping 708 miles on it. It was in good condition and just had its break-in service performed. I added just over 7000 miles in 8 months and traded it in last weekend (june 2019). There may have been a handful of days I didn't ride it over the winter time and I live not even 10 miles away from procaliber. Not riding in the wet if you live in an area where there's a lot of wetness, you might as well rent a bike.... All in good fun of course!:-)

I just inherited a 2011 spyder that has less than 2000 miles and nearly 10 years worth of dust on it. Hasn't been started since late 2011 and has been stored in a garage in Florida the entire time. I plan on changing the engine/gearbox oil and draining any old fuel. Is there anything else you recommend I do? Edit - Tyres were sitting on some cardboard so they seem to be in good condition and drive belt has no signs of cracking. Many thanks.
