Looking Back at 2023 and Ahead to 2024

During our early days, we’d post a “state of the state” of ScaleTrains video each New Year’s. We’d share the major highlights from the year that was ending and give a preview of the coming year including new models. With so much happening at ScaleTrains, we’ve decided to bring back this annual tradition.

In regards to fantasy units, I think the idea of GP60Ms and/or B40-8Ws in Conrail colors would be neat. They had a high-priority coast-to-coast intermodal service they operated in conjunction with the Santa Fe (the QNYLA train), and my reasoning is them doing it for marketing, pushing the idea that common equipment is being used all the way across the country to attract additional shippers. In addition, the split of Conrail may have been delayed to the mid-2000s in this scenario, enabling them to purchase equipment they may not otherwise have.

Congratulatons Shane, on your new grandchild. The "Road Trip" promotion is way cool and demonstrates a lot of "out of the box" thinking by the Scale Trains team! I noticed there was no mention in your video of your release of the S Scale "S-Helper Service" rolling stock, so wonder if this was overlooked in your 2023 recap remarks? Hoping we will see more S Scale rolling stock and either re-issues of S Scale locomotives or possibly some new models. Best wishes for a safe and prosperous 2024 for the Scale Trains team!

Please do an N Scale run of the Rio Grande SD40T-2's. The HO models are absolutely incredible, and I know a few modelers who would buy N versions of that particular locomotive. I myself would purchase every single road number with DCC/Sound in a heartbeat. You guys are absolutely fantastic, and I hope you guys have plans in the future for N scale versions of Steam as well. Thank You for making such awesome models.

I'd love to see Scale Trains do the GP9 and GP35 in Rivet Counter detail level. Offerings from other manufacturers just aren't getting it done.

I am an O-Scale modeler. At the same time, I find it great that companies like ScaleTrains are doing well and furthering the hobby. This hobby only becomes better when companies reinvest and build great models.

I got an HO scale BNSF AC4400CW for Christmas and I'm definitely looking forward to the Iowa Interstate ES44AC locomotive coming in a few months.

Happy new year scaletrains! Over the months, I’ve been working with some of your locomotives at a near by hobby club. After a while I decided to buy my own units and they have been astonishing! No running issues great sounds I love the lights! So take this as a thank you and I hope to see what’s next to come!
