@hitlordАй бұрын
What do you mean people don't? Everyone who has touched the game knows the market pricing is based Mathil. Half the builds everyone plays, if you ask them for a guide, they'll say "look up X and Y Mathil". The entire shift to SC trade leagues is due to him, while being an extremely hardcore player he made the game more accessible for new people. If anything, half of the success of PoE is due to this guy. And right now I'm impressed that a single MTX has made almost 1M dollars. With him most definitely having a hand on over 50% of that. Imagining saying the guy that gets blamed every time the meta shifts or the market changes isn't given enough credit by the players.
@DevlerАй бұрын
One of the most iconic things about Mathil - aside from his builds - is his measured and level-headed interpretation of every league. He doesn't bandwagon whatever people are complaining about, and always has reasonable takes on the state of the game and new leagues. His stream is literally a bastion of good sense in a sea of reactionaries. On to new adventures mate.
@Dan1loBCАй бұрын
Yes!! I remember specifically about Expedition, 3.15, where everyone was bashing the league for removing power creep, but Mathil knew we needed to take away player power to allow future leagues to grow, and it was awesome for the game in the long run.

I haven't seen this mentioned, but what's really impressive with some of these older builds is that Path of Building didn't exist back then. No third-party apps, almost zero websites to figure out mods, market trends, etc. This madman was just cooking the coolest shit raw.

Then I tried winter orb and suddenly I was able to do stuff that I never was able to clear (like at that time shaper and Elder. Yes, I was THAT bad). And with winterorb it just felt trivial. The build that made PoE "click" for me was Vortex Occultist. That build at that time was so incredibly tanky, broken and trivialized all of the game.
