I got this exact same tent a few weeks ago and I have absolutely loved it so far! I have a Yakima roof box on top of the crossbars on the tent with some other things in there as well as a Mountain bike on those crossbars as well. So far it has been an amazing purchase

Awesome! Apparently on the listing questions, there was an issue with another person selling the tent saying daneoverlanding is a fake account? I purchased it from GEWUU instead of daneoverlanding (so I hope they’re the same exact tent). There’s an option to choose which seller to buy from but Amazon’s going to protect your purchase regardless. Hope everything works out brotha!

Shouldn’t be too bad. Front runner racks have a lot more room to reach the brackets. Also, you can use the sunroof as well to get the front brackets on if you have one.

I have a GFC on my Tacoma, but I used to have a 4Runner. Seems like a good tent, the cost makes it seem like a worthy investment. You mentioned that if you take care of it , it would last and treat the zippers gently.

Thanks for the review. I’m pretty sure I’m getting this tent. It doesn’t appear to have any solid coverings for the side windows? Is that true? I wouldn’t think it would be good in the rain?

It has a mesh window, and another window to cover the mesh. As far as an awning, this one only covers the large opening towards the back of the vehicle.

I have a similar style rack on my Bronco and I have been looking for mounting options. The Front Runner style rack in particular, there is a quick release option that functions a riser, raising the height of the tent to give clearance between the rack and the tent. This is an interesting option and similar (non quick release risers) that are available in 1” or 2” heights seem like additional options to make mounting the tent easier. Hey there... thanks for the great review. It was really thoughtful and helpful. Quick question: when raining while camping, how well did the inside of the tent stay dry? I don't see obvious rain protection but may have missed it (protection from the rain coming in the windows / waterproof surfaces)? thanks again.

Just went on a week long trip in Banff which was raining a handful of days. The awning material was more water resistant, but water will definitely cause the sidewalls to become wet. Could benefit from a waterproof treatment though. Dries quick, but wasn’t ideal for run and gun camping like we were doing.

we purchased this from Amazon after watching it. unfortunately, we got scammed. glad Amazon was able to return our money back. we ended up buying the same tent but different brand in Canada and it was 200 dollar more. I must say. they are pretty well built.

Thank you for the video. Read the comment on mounting your awning with Ironman mounts. I have the prinsu mount which sticks up about an inch. Curious how thick this tents mounting rails are and whether they will clear my prinsu mounts? Also have a 4Runner and will need this tent to overhang Prinsu rack by a couple of inches.

I have the same 4runner, and i think the same rack. Well, mine is a caliraised low profile. How did you attach the tent. Did you take off your cross bars and then add it all back to your rack ?

I have an alphafoxtrot rack (similar to prinsu) and it’s discontinued. I have 275s, and a 2.75 lift. It is right under 84 inches with the included crossbars. I know this because I brushed against a parking garage ceiling 😭 I think you should be good but very tight without crossbars.

The ladder comes inside the tent, and stores easily without an issue inside of it. It’s a tight squeeze but I’m able to leave my unrolled sleeping bags + ladder up there.

This is a super great deal. Let me tell you why. It looks like it's made by the same manufacturer that the other big name companies slap their name plates on - e.g., Roofnest. This one in particular looks almost exactly like a Roofnest Falcon, which I own and which cost me way more than this. Not long after I got my Roofnest Falcon (which was shipped to me in a wooden crate from China) I quickly realized that many of these companies must be contracting with the same Chinese manufacturer. I'm not saying that there are any quality issues - mine was fine. I'm just saying that you should look around and keep your eyes open for deals like this one which is being sold under a lesser known name...

Hey man! I have this same roof top tent and love it so far ! You’re one of the reasons I got it . I just installed yesterday which took forever but got it done with a buddy. Do you know if it’s normal that I can hear some rattling when going over small bumps?? Almost as if the shocks are making noise on the roof top tent itself

I would make sure the nuts are tight. With RTT you will notice the nuts will start to loosen with time.

Water proofing could be improved by treating the tent material but that was only in heavy rain conditions where the material was damp on both sides (mattress and everything stayed dry). Struts still work great, mattress could use an upgrade but that varies on person. I found it uncomfortable, but tolerable. I still think it’s an excellent tent for the money, and worth the savings over purchasing a brand name tent.

He is only using one bolt on each mount. Which seems sketchy to me honestly.

@@hupo I drilled an additional hole onto the iron man mounts so there are two bolts holding each mount on the channel. I did this a week after making the video. Never ran into any issues with one, it was very solid but didn’t want to chance it.

It's tight on these things. A long ratcheting wrench is a good purchase for these.

It was difficult with a low profile prinsu-style rack like mine. I took off two cross bars on my rack, measured the distance between the two, and installed the tent onto the removed cross bars. After that, install the tent/crossbars onto the rack.
