The "What's your real name? Game finished?" achievement means you are actually Jaz from "Great Aunt An's" picture. She is your real mother. She sent you away YEARS ago (before you even remembered the village) to save your life, because the town believed you to be the "celestial child" and you were going to be sacrificed. The whole town is driven insane from the guilt of sacrificing their own children and it not working. The police officer Will still believes you are the celestial child after all these years. He even mentions I brought the celestial child back to the village. And who brought you to the village to find your "missing" child? But, the TRUE celestial child is Mia. The celestial child was supposed to be missing an ear, hence why the villagers all thought they had to cut off the children's ear before they sacrificed them. But, Mia was BORN that way, hence MIA is the ACTUAL celestial child and is the one needed to complete the TRUE sacrifice. I'm pretty sure the demonic entity "mother buddha" causes sores/ulcers and eventually insanity until someone completes the ritual and releases her, which is why everyone is so desperate to complete the ritual and so obviously insane. They are at a point of trying anything to make it stop, even burning each other at the stake as an offering, when there are no more children left. And it even still affects you and Mia, even though you are out of the village. While you were away from the village you had Mia and the ulcers started forming on her body. They were ignored until the point of near death. In the hospital memory, you can hear the doctors saying they "can't believe she waited this long" and "her flesh has begun to rot." In the end the doctors couldn't save her. And the guilt of not taking her to the doctors sooner push you to insanity. The "Risk Consent Form" (which is actually a very normal procedure in hospitals, especially in situations were they were not likely to survive in the first place) in your mind, gets twisted into them making you sign it so they can kidnap your baby. And you are the one who wrapped up the baby in those rags, when they gave your the body back. And you just believe that the hospital took your baby, even though the town is full of gossip over what truly happened. I think that police officer Will, (still believing that YOU are the celestial child) found you, learned of the gossip of the town, saw you didn't accept the truth and were STILL looking for your daughter. So he took the dead baby back to the village and placed the "Relic" at the shrine. And told you he thinks your daughter is there, to lure YOU back there, in a last ditch effort to save his daughter. The Mia we meet in the village is the Manifestation of Mother Buddha herself she gave you the Hallucination flowers so you are not in your full senses at the start of the game , she acted all innocent and called you Mumma to plant the seed of confusion that she is your real daughter , Taught you the Cursed Incantation Chant and the Hand Sign. Also do you remember one of the cursed painting she drew was of Mother Buddha herself on that lotus that you saw whkle finding the green crayon. Either way, "Great Aunt An" knows this and plays along to trick you into finishing the true ritual, so she can have YOU (her daughter) back , also maybe she is also under some kind of control of Mother Buddha . She even says in the game, this was "ALL FOR YOU". Great Aunt An knows (and is the only one who ever knew) that the actual ritual needs to take place at the end of the "haunted" tunnel, not the shrine. The tunnel is manifested as a hallway of memories of the truth, which we can not handle and "Great Aunt An" pulling us down this terrible "tunnel / hallway of truth" to complete the ritual, makes her appear as a cyclops demon to us. Which we kill, not knowing we just killed our mom/Great Aunt An. And we snap back to "reality". And in a frantic panic, all we want to do is save Mia (who is actually long dead and never come back) . So, after all the talk in town of giving the offering / the relic (the real celestial child//dead baby Mia) to the mother buddha, making the hand gestures and praying to the mother buddha, she will make our dreams come true and will give us what we want, we frantically do exactly what the demon had led us here to do. Heck, she even taught us how when Mia asked us to pray with her. And now that the TRUE ritual is complete, Mia, a.k.a. the demon is released and comes out and thanks us.

been a big fan of hollow for a while,but here's the outcome of my research unfortunately you acquired the bad ending,as i was saying the good ending is actually resisting to do the ritual,complete the puzzle,and finding the ways without shortcuts also solving the hidden words everytime a piece of puzzle is available to resist the so called curse to takeover the daughter,we the player need to fully crack every puzzle from notes and exploration which it will help us better prepared on how to deal with the occult and resisting the ritual leading to an ending where we protect our daughter from being possessed by the whatever mother

@kasarrah1619 its actually not doing the rituals like throughout the game all she want was to bring her daughter back during all that quest she would be force to do the ritual but if you look closely and find all the missing piece in the game,you can find information about the rituals and stuff and there you will be given like force option,if you take shortcut for example just follow the story without exploring the relics and exploring you gained zero knowledge thus force you to do the ritual but if you get side tracked and explore all the locations searching clue after you then will not perform the ritual,thus the slightly happier ending which the daughter is still possessed but she can stay human even though she sick and stuff
