If other haven't mentioned it, I will. Thank you for putting in the pictures of where you park and the various ways to get to the beach. I think it's extremely important and it helps identify where exactly the beach you are enjoying is. And awesome treasures today! I love that you are saving the pieces of the rarer shells you find...those pieces are beautiful.

I so badly want you to find a junonia. You are the reason I found mine. I'm the one who was in Florida for 2 weeks last month, exhausted from the best 2 weeks of shelling ever, when I saw your video in the evening that inspired me to go out one more time before packing to go home, the next morning. That one last drive out to the beach was when my junonia found me. I am so grateful that you inspired me to go to the beach one last time. I CAN'T WAIT to see you post your Junonia video. You deserve it.

You found that shell at Lido didn't you? I remember! I will find my J one of these days. I was hoping on Shell Island, but "all" I got that day was a giant lightning whelk 😅 I'll find that shell. Or it will find me ☺️

Thanks for showing the distance from Tigertail parking the long way to the beach. I didn’t think I’d be able to do it with my spinal cord injury, and I’m too big of a chicken to go through the lagoon. I believe that with a bucket to sit on and lots of rest breaks, I’ll actually be able to experience this beach next time I come down. I totally love that you received a jewel box surprise. Those surprises are some of my personal favorites that I cherish. It’s like they are hiding, just waiting for us to find the little gifts meant only for us. Can’t wait for next week! Thanks for all you do! 😊🐚☀️
@SWFBeachLife2 жыл бұрын
I really love this beach but the walk is pretty long. And the lagoon is tidal so you'll get pretty wet trying to walk through at high tide. Plus, that little spot when you get to the beach after the 10 minute long walk always seems to give me a good shell or two - like that flat! Next week is going to be fun! We'll get to see a couple of things I've never seen before!

Didn't it? I decided today what shell I want to use to ask them to make me a piece. Now I just have to find the right one! Thanks so much for watching!

I find it very interesting that the shells like the Juvenile fighting conch can be different in colors and patterns. That's what makes it so neat as you never know what you may find. Love the beach decor. Great bunch of finds.

I really appreciate the shells that come in a variety of patterns and colors. You can find 10 of the same shell and each will have it's own little special attribute 🐚❤️

Funny thing about so few sand dollars on Marco, but I have found lots of “blonde” lettered olives there too. Can’t wait to see the gorgeous jewelry, is it Ocean Soul? That J frag was such a tease, but you will get your Junonia one of these days. It was a gorgeous walk on the beach with you, thanks as always.

Yes, I have made some new beach friends with Ocean Soul. What a delightful couple of humans! And I know I'll get that J - I will just have to be patient and let it find me. Thank you for watching, commenting and coming along with me on my beach walks!

Way to score early with the flat! Really beautiful markings on it too. I would love to have just one calm day at Honeymoon island like this... Lol A mark? Yes, that was a S turrid with more color than usual. Love the bam shell too. Very underrated. Not sure I think the inner purple ffc's are rare either. Those were a couple of great spiny J's! That's what I love about HI - just you and the beach. Hmmm... "2 day bonanza". Can't wait!😁 Thanks, Sharmon. BTW the jewelry was really gorgeous. Way more high-end than I do. xxoo

My internet was out for hours and I had to dig to find your comment! That jewelry is GORGEOUS! I'm making some pretty outstanding beach friends! They're going to make a piece for me but I have to choose a shell (almost impossible) and what I'd like made (so many choices!). It was a super fun day but next Sunday is going to be great too. Quite a few things I've never seen before!

Another Awesome video Sharmon! We were just in Sanibel and we found hundreds of juvenile fighting conchs! I had to use 2 carry-ons and 2 backpacks to get all my shells back. Hope you’re doing well, can’t wait for next Sunday! Have a great week! 🤩

Those must have been some heavy carry-ons - that's awesome! I'm glad you got yourself a whole bunch of beach memories!

what type of camera are you using? i've watched a couple other "shellers" and their rapid focus doesn't hold a candle to yours. also side note i really appreciate that you take your time panning over various shell piles etc... other folks tend to move so quickly it's almost nausea inducing

I agree. it is really nice to be able to see individual shells when scanning.

I use my iPhone to film a majority of my videos. It's got a great camera that I can shoot in 4K, I like the focus and it's light and small. I will tell you it takes a bit of restraint to not sweep across the shells. It's always exciting to be out there but I keep reminding myself to SLOW DOWN. Swinging the camera all over does not make a pleasant video!

I always waded across the lagoon since it was a lot shorter and I usually had fishing equipment with me.
@SWFBeachLife2 жыл бұрын
If I were lugging fishing equipment I would probably brave the lagoon too. It's really quite a hike around that brush but I was rewarded with some pretty sweet shells!

@@SWFBeachLife not sure if you’ve gone out on the sandbar. It gets very shallow and normally pretty clear. I’ve had great luck with sand dollars on it. You can see the live olives out there and their tracks in the sand too.
@SWFBeachLife2 жыл бұрын
@@jims6101 Yes I've been out there when the tide was low and I did get a whole bucket full of dollars. This time my container was overkill but at least I was prepared!

Those are so beautiful! Me and my family were in Florida from last Thursday to this Tuseday. It's so beautiful over there. I was wondering what do you do with all of the shells that you find?
@SWFBeachLife2 жыл бұрын
I hope you enjoyed your time here in Florida! Mostly I keep the shells in glass jars, vases and lanterns. I showed my collection in a past video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5fcYZ2iZdigpqc Then, I put some shells to the side to sell and others to do projects with. I've managed to complete 2 projects thus far. A shell mirror: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5eYhImjbdJopJo And a shell photo frame: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nmq4eqmnobStna8 I have lots of ideas I just need to find more time!

I miss Sanibel so much and all the other islands. I went to Corpus Christi this spring instead of Sanibel. The first day at the beach the tide was falling and we hit that ridge where shell congregate and found some gorgeous black and brown olives. Went back to the beach the next day, nothing but broken shells the tide was pounding the shore. so we went to the other end of the island a 3 hour drive. So disappointing, nothing but huge amounts of trash washing up on shore. It was so sad. there were trash bins every 4/10ths of a mile. So I picked up what I could to help but found nothing at all. I attribute this to global warming with more hurricanes and flooding things get pulled out into the ocean. I'm coming to Sanibel around Halloween, bringing a coat. Hoping for the best! Thanks for the hike with treasure.

Ugh on the lack of shells and garbage. I've definitely had some "slow" days but there's usually something to admire. The beaches down here in SWFL have the best variety of sea shells and beach treasures. I'd like to see other beaches myself, but I know it's going to be WAY different than the beaches down here. Hopefully you won't need your winter coat in October but by all means bring it just in case! Some of those mornings and evenings can get quite chilly! I hope you have a good week!
