What a time, worked on the oil rigs, outside of Dimebox, got off a night shift, drive into town, flip on the radio and its JJW. Life’s good. Me Susan a couple times, she was very nice, Antione’s, met a pretty girl and ran often to Barton Springs… yea, she turned out to be my 2nd cousin.. the heart of JJW, is the MCA record time this record and “Cow jazz”….thanks JJ & Susan, you added so much to our life’s happy moments

Every musician touches me in some way, but Jerry Jeff Walker touches me in a way no one else can, Somehow, his music is just REAL - it reaches way down deep in my soul, I was first introduced to "Viva Terlingua" in 1976 and been luvin him ever since. I am looking forward to meeting him on the other side...

I got to see Tom Waits open for Jerry Jeff at Ebbets Field in Denver about 1974. What a show! It cost about 5 bucks, money well spent for sure

I remember cruising down one of the boulevards in New Orleans with my friends when this song came on. We all started singing it in unison. What a night! I am 56 years old now and just hope that I can hold on to this memory for the rest of my life. Don't have a clue as to where my old friends are today. Guess that's life!

Jerry Jeff covering Tom Waits. Doesn't get any better than this.

I love this version nearly as much as the Tom Waits version. I love how it shows that the same lyrics can tell a completely different story when sang differently.

I talked to him about this album/CD when I played golf with him at his birthday party and he said he didn't own the rights to this album, so he couldn't re-release it.... My favorite album of his!

It's a great album, right up there with "Walker's Collectibles". That this album was so good was what made his next one, the live "A Man Must Carry On" such a disappointment

All boomer rock is Springsteen Covering Waits, Or Neil Young covering Dylan, or the Eagles covering the Stones, or Joe Walsh Covering Daft Punk... Whatever, it's all gold. And if there's an original blues version, even better.
