Those are gorgeous titanite specimens! They are so shiny! But even the other minerals you found were awesome! I think my favorite specimen is the little titanites in I think feldspar with the large well formed amphibole crystal with it.i think that's what it was! There were so many! You found quite a bit and some really nice specimen pieces! Thank you for sharing Aidan!

Classic Gibson Rd pieces Aiden! The Titanites are nice but I do like the look of that Amphibole perched on that Feldspar. 👍

I bought a cut 10-Carat Sphene not long ago - I fell in love with that yellow-light lime green look! Hoping to make it into a pendant next year... Q: What do you get when 2 Titanites grow together? A: A mighty-Tighty! LOL!

Very cool, sphene is a nice gemstone/interesting mineral.

There are a bunch that have been going on in Southern Quebec for the last 1.5 months and the smokes has just been blown south a lot. Some days it quite bad others it's a bit better.

Is there any tricks you know to “stabilize “ the green apatite from this location? I recently have dug up some nice pieces but as I’m sure you know they are very brittle. I was just curious if you knew of any solutions? You got some really nice titanite’s! I wasn’t able to find any unfortunately, but got lots of green apatite and some nice amphibole pieces.

Unfortunately due to the weathering and other factors such calcite being great absorbing energy and displacing it into the apatite in the calcite the apatite tend to be brittle and fractured. You just kinda have to get lucky. This year i did manage to find some nice dt apatites. I personally haven't tried stabilizing any apatites from there. But I know there have been cases where that has happened with other locations before, I think some of the apatite from Liscombe were stabilized but I could be wrong.

@@Ontario_Rockhound thanks for the response! I’ll keep digging into it and if not I’ll just be extra careful with them. Love the content, keep it up!

Hiw donyou clean iff the rust? I have tried vinegar and coke
@Videoexist7 ай бұрын
Ah nevermind iron out haha
@Ontario_Rockhound7 ай бұрын
Yes iron out, trick is to do multiple baths, letting the specimens dry out between soaks to deal with thicker rust.
