Nice images of Kirriemuir. My grandfather was born there on Roods in 1871. Wonder if the house he was born in is still there! Thanks for these pictures. Maybe some day I will see this place in person!

I lived in Kirrie from 1939 till 1960 and had a great childhood and teenage years.Kirrie then had 7 bakers 8 pubs 2 schools 7 kirks 6 butchers 7 grocers 2 factories 1 mill 1 gasworks and nobody out of work.Things have changed since my day. I laos lived up Knowehead Crescent over the fence from Anna-Mary Rae and in the same block as Nell Rae think her husband served in RAF during the war had a son and daughter Jim and Anne . Went through kirrie often on way to glamis delivering butcher meat nice wee toon n went to a folk festival one weekend staying in alyth

I was born in Knowehead cres back in 1942 and wonders if anyone remembers my family mum was known as nell rae my cousin was wilma and my aunt was anna-mary Jim Baxter

Im almost 50 and remember the kirrie thistle discos well. Many thanks to the twins Heidi and ????, and to their friend Morag who took care of me, wink, wink. Happy days!
