Hey Sofiane, you are right. there are no makers in London. this is one of the top asked questions I get which is why I created a guide especially to help with finding a qanun. here is the link qanunsecrets.com/qanunmakers. dark and rich is an arabic qanun:) unfortunately my qanun maker doesn't make qanuns any more. Hi Maya... if I buy Turkish Qanun, will it be differ from arabic one other than size? I mean they have same strings number and tuned same or they are different (e.g. Oud tuning is different between arabic Oud and Turkish Oud). hope hear your reply soon! thanks in advance.cheers

yes it will be different. the main difference is in the levers. Arabic tone is divided to 4 quarters which is why the arabic qanun has 4 levers which the Turkish tone is divided to 9 small fragments of the tone called coma. this is why the Turkish kanun has 9 (sometimes more) levers. with that said you can produce arab quarter tones with Turkish qanuns.
