Looking To Get Into Pre War? Here are Five Affordable T206 Cards Worth Looking Into!

Collecting Pre War is definitely growing within our community and there are a lot of different options out there. Not to say that it's been ignored, but every card show that I've attended with the various content creators have centered around a lot of the big names in the pre war period of baseball.
However, if you're new to Pre War, I believe that the best set to turn to to learn about the history of the players from that period is the T206 set. It is a monster set to build, but it is filled with stars and hall of famers. A lot of the really big names command thousands of dollars for their cards, but this video shows five hall of famers for prices for over/under $200 each.

Great List Sammy - So many underrated players there - Willie Keeler especially - Seems like a Tony Gwynn style player who played for some great 1890's Baltimore teams.

Nice legwork Sammy ! 👍👍. My 1st t206 was an affordable HOFer Jake Beckley so it was great seeing that recommendation to start the video. Also enjoyed seeing that exact SGC 1.5 Jake . This is my 2nd t206 Beckley. Bought it for the eye appeal ; the background is red compared to my other (orange ). The 1.5 is due or a dealer stamp on the back, Harold A. Perris of Lake George (Antiques). Fun fact, this card is perfect for Halloween since he looks like Dracula 😂 The Addie Joss selection is also a great one. Thanks for doing this Sammy. Love this. Getting into Pre-War cards has been a super-rewarding experience for me, it's so wonderful these cards have survived all these years. And this is a good reminder you don't need to buy Cobbs and Ruths to acquire an awesome collection.

Thank you for saying that. It's very true. Look, if you can go out and buy a Cobb or a Ruth, by all means do so! I completely understand how rewarding it is to buy that big card. I've been doing it more often lately. However, I understand how exciting it is to buy an Addie Joss card. His story is so rewarding. He was a dominant pitcher in his day and it's a shame he died so young. I love the what if scenario with him.

Great advice. There are so many prewar sets and players that are financially approachable but I feel like people are scared off when they hear the prices on guys like Ruth, Cobb or Gehrig.

Great selections! Rube Waddell sells a little higher than these guys, but I would put him in this group also. Eddie Collins is also quite affordable for his level of play and importance to baseball history.

Sammy, those are some great names to think about. I am already targeting a Sam Crawford card, doesn't have to be a T206, but it's nice to know that they are obtainable in case I go that route. 11 days.

There are a number of Pre War Hall of Famers that just don't have that level of acknowledgement as some of the bigger names. We see that into the Golden Age as well. Just the way this hobby goes sometimes. It makes great opportunities for collectors to buy these players.
