Sam just put out one of the best demos of the TR-8S I've seen; using the machine in ways most people never bothered to use it. It's an amazing drum machine. If only the sampling features weren't an afterthought I'd have hung onto it.

Common Tea Drinker Computers don’t have to be digital. See Heathkit EC-1 for an example of an analog computer. Analog computers have been used in everything from bomb sites and fire control systems, to animation for television (see Scanimate) up to the 1989’s. And they’re having quite the resurgence, with potentially faster speeds and considerably lower power requirements. Very early analog computers were actually purely mechanical in nature.

I love how LMNC plays songs instead of just rhythms. Far too much of the synth scene, especially the modular crowd, focuses on making rhythmic pieces with no significant melodic parts. That's not to say there's no value in rhythmic pieces, but it's not what I want in music.
