This was our first official home production....aisa tha ke after CHALTI KA NAAM GAADI..which was a blockbuster super hit..all over india....To show expences "yaanee kharcha dikhaneke liye he started this bengali film which became a bigger hit than CKNG..."Lookochoori"ran for over 75weeks in kolkata....Kuchh poonji jame aur bambai ka ghar bana "Gouri kunj"..In short my father built the bungalow in bombay after the success of This bangla blockbuster "lookochoori"The year was 1959..The bunglow is 62yrs old now where we live...in juhu Tara road.🙏😊

It wasn't available before this version because the former copyright holder withdrew its versions and refused to allow other channels to upload it, even though the film has been out of copyright for over three years now. I had to fight off the crooks for quite a while. Their false copyright claims even included copyright takedown notices (strikes). Never a dull moment.

I'd love to do it as her films with Uttam Kumar are among my favorites. Unfortunately, the former copyright owners are totally corrupt and try to hang onto them even though many are no longer protected by copyright. The same problem exists for this film as they still have a phony copyright claim on this film. It was very very difficult to even make this film available on KZbin and I might lose it yet. You might notice that there are no versions of the complete Looko Choori available except for this one, for now. But those criminals just make me want to work on more Bengali films. How about Hirano Sur?
