Dear Wander, holding shift allows you place multiple towers. Top right of the screen also says so. Keep up the good work.

I wander where they are, very cute achievement. I'm looking forward to seeing a wandernot achievement in vampire survivors where you can't move after leveling up once for a whole run.

Hi, I've been watching for some time, and most of the runs, including this one, you lose not because the lack of damage, but because the lack of mana. You come to a point where 50% or more of your towers are not working and enemies start passing through.

That's incorrect in this case. If you re-watch Wander's round 40 in the video here you'll see that while he was running a mana deficit? He never actually ran out of mana and his towers never actually stopped firing. What's happening is that round 40 introduces a new enemy: these mini, floating, portals that are tanky as all hell and spawn mobs on death who in turn spawn additional mobs on death. It's like a Trojan Horse makes it 1/3 of the way through his main line of defense only to release two to three additional Trojan Horses that make it 2/3 of the way through his main line of defense only to open up and spawn a three shielded enemies each. The sheer amount of enemies spawning and the fact they're spawning already having penetrated the firing line of his towers is what kills him.

For siphons vs banks, 100g may be noticeable in the early game, but by the time you'd need to be making entire districts to support your mana sucking towers, that 100g per mana is almost a moot point, and if you're using mana draining towers, whose drain increases as their level goes up (I haven't checked to see what levels their mana cost ticks up), it's mandatory to build the banks anyway to keep up with costs. I tried going for the Ballista+Obelisk achievement the other day, and it felt like I was starting to fill multiple tiles with nothing but mana banks to try and keep up, and one slip led to me still running out of mana and getting overwhelmed. The lesson I've learned playing so far is that getting some towers to level 15-20 and all three levels of Quality over Quantity is huge, combined with the fact that most towers have a +10% crit card once you get all their +1 damage of a type and the University has a global +5% crit chance. If you can really max out that crit chance, applying statuses, and combined with things like expunge and exsanguinate to explode those DoTs on crit does insane damage when you get the the late game. That's the strategy that got me the Ballista+Shredder only achievement. Overall, it feels like having a select number of towers and maxing their buffs works better than having a lot of different towers with only a few buffs apiece. Also, the fewer towers you take the less draw bloat you have. And I feel you really, really need to stop super-fortifying the last three tiles of your paths. You seem to keep running into the scenario where there are so many enemies that even your packed defenses can't shoot fast enough to hit everything before the enemy's out of range and at your defenses. And you ran afoul of the beholder; they're tanky themselves, and then release fast moving eyes on death. I feel you really need to be whittling them down earlier on the paths. Once you start expanding past wave 15, try to find a more forward base to be your main damage dealer, with your original defensive block used as the mop up for those that get through, as once you start getting swarmed, there are often enemies that will only get light damage from AoEs and will get lucky on not being targeting by the attack towers. Otherwise, you get what happens here and if anyone gets through that first block, you're hosed. Wave 40 is the make or break wave for your defenses.

one of my winning runs was with quantity, as ive taken basically nearly every tower there is and then focused heavily on all dot types, worked really well. might have been carried heavily though by the academies. getting a bunch of them and them upgrading all your dmg types by a +15 supercharges all your low level towers insanely. because every enemy was also hit by so many different towers i was swimming in money too. creating a triple dot with snowfort and the arc tower on nearly every big curve area really wears down the enemies.

@@MrVentches Hmm, maybe I've just become a little biased in some of my success at the 2 tower achievement hunting (though admittedly I've only actually got 1). I have fond memories of the absolutely stupid damage I was doing with those rippers. I think I was hitting the thousands and just destroying the mobs.

@@itonieshi I didn't say siphons weren't worth picking up, and I'll usually grab both if I'm going to be doing anything with mana, but unless you're blessed with an overabundance of mana cubes somehow, siphons alone aren't going to cut it unless, in that niche case you pointed out, you just want maybe 3-4 haunted houses up and no mana towers. Siphons are a smaller upfront cost way to get your first few mana using towers running, but they can't support your entire defense getting into the late game, not unless 90% of your defenses are non-mana using.

Usually I strike a balance. Early rounds it's Siphons > Banks, later it becomes Siphons < Banks. Then again I tend to be a quality player over quantity player, so I need the gold for upgrading towers.

You either need alot more spam ballistus to handle wave 40 or more AOE towers near your base. Great episode.

The priority system for towers in this game is supposedly multiplicative and not ranked. It's kind of non-standard, but it is a different way of doing it. In theory it should increase performance as its not doing multiple branches.

Might I recommend distributing you damage types over the map. Have your progress targeters next to the tower, health targeters a little farther out, armor a little farther than health, and finally shield outside all of that. This means you can focus xp gains on the stats the tower will be hitting most.

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn’t from where it is, it obtains a difference or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't and arriving at a position that it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation. The variation being the difference between where the missile is and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information that the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa. And by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.

From my experience with radar I love them. I usually get one before the first Oogie (unless trying for specific achievements) and put it as Priority: Most Health, Slowest, Progress. It'll take out Oogie well before he is anywhere near your tower and the other ones can handle the trash mobs. (For Zombie I make a second and go Most Shield, Slowest, Prog. For Robo I go Most Armor and so on.)

In game there is nice guide how this game works. You should read how poison, fire and bleed works. Each work on different color of the bar differetly.

Hell yeah. Thanks for keeping those poison tower set to progress, I noticed a difference I don't know if you did. They do need just a little bit of leveling to make their DMG higher and you're golden.

poison sprayer , flame thrower and tesla should be able to kill anything if they are leveled well poison for shield , flame for armor and tesla is actually for overall and main because of how its aoe work so upgrade it's armor and health damage to be equal to how much the shield damage is already then after that just upgrade according to the type of enemies comes , for some of the first wave it might be tough to get the gold for leveling but if you manage to survive till wave20 then you should be pretty good at that point , also a single tesla is enough to win ( of course in single defense)

Shredders are pretty op. Also crits and high lvl towers is the way btw popping 10k crits and only needing 2 high level towers as main dps while ballista for support. Also DoTs only seem good with crits as theirs the % of the dot stack upon crit

Radars are absolutely devastating if you put a few levels into them, their base damage is so high. I ran a game last night and had one each specced out for near death health damage, most armor, and most shield damage, and when paths are long enough most things are low health by the time they reach the rest of your defences. And because of the range they level up pretty quicky since they're almost always attacking something

I feel as though if you want to go far in Rogue Tower it's always mortars, they are just effective. Wander I hope you continue making series of/in games, I enjoy watching you play. Not all your series because we all like different things. Loved you for Inscription.

I thought "marking" targets would be something you have to do manually, by clicking on the target, or something. So it does it automatically, like any other turret?

It can be pretty nuts, yeah. I've also found that you can actually mix and match when I did it on triples. The more types of towers you have going after an enemy, the more money you make when it dies, so it's actually quite possible to bring a whole set of Teslas up to level 50 or so if they're surrounded by other towers types to bring in the money. (and on that tangent, I remember back when I kept my skill trees trimmed so I could reliably have 10 different towers in a run and it would rake in just _absurd_ amounts of cash.)

I just noticed something about radar, maybe someone else can verify. The planes go to the full range of the tower being they turn around and start shooting again. If this is true, putting radar at the bottom (+0) will cause them to attack faster and thus deal more damage, compared to placing them at the top (+3 and +4).

Does radar affect every enemy on range? Or just a single one every now and then? Honestly i can tell, by the time i get one of those towers there are too many enemies to track such changes

what is the difference between fire and poison in this game? They both do dmg over time. Do they have secondary effects?

I don't know the exact numbers, but bleed, burn, and poison are each associated with one of health, armour, and shield. I think mobs can't regen that type of hp while they have the associated status, and it deals bonus damage to that hp type.

@@Jikkuryuu Close. Each type deals only half damage to the other kinds of HP (so bleed deals half to armor and shield). You are correct that mobs cannot regen hp of a type they have a dot for.
