I don’t know how, but the first tree I made, I ended up with 4 loops just like yours! BUT, after that one, I’m ending up with just 3 loops! You mention that it’s ok, but I can’t figure out where I’m messing up! Also, can this be done in a 31 peg loom? I would like to make a bigger tree. And would I follow the same instructions as for the tiny one? TIA for all your help and wonderful patterns!
@LoomaHat Жыл бұрын
Hi - if you're getting less loops - you're not knitting enough rows or you're skipping some of the purl rows. You may need to write down the pattern to make sure it knit every row or you can get the written pattern here loomahat.store/collections/holidays . As far as making it bigger, you can use a larger loom but you would need to adjust the pattern. It's not going to work well with the same exact stitch and row count I used for the small loom. Both need to be increased and without testing the larger pattern, I wouldn't be able to give you the stitch or row count for a 31 peg loom. Hope that makes sense

These are really cute and just gave me another thing to make for Christmas 😁. Would this be small and light enough to hang on a Christmas tree?
@LoomaHat6 жыл бұрын
Yes - keep the stuff light and make sure you decrease enough rows - the less you decrease the larger the tree.

Could this be done on a bigger loom using the same steps or would i have to double the steps? I have an uncle who usually does not put up a christmas tree and i would like to make him one...would a 36 peg loom be a good size?
@emilye30393 жыл бұрын
I made a larger one using a 30 peg loom. It stands about 10 inches tall. I followed the same 24 peg pattern for the trunk, but used a bulky weight yarn. For the tree, I had to play with when to decrease. The repeat is 4 rows of purl followed by 3 rows of knit decreasing every row. I settled on NOT decreasing the first purl row of each repeat and adding an extra repeat set. That left me with 6 pegs in play before the final 3 purl rows and then the cast off.

Ok this is going to sound strange but can you do one on a hand muff?
@LoomaHat6 жыл бұрын
Like decorative? It might if you skip the stuffing and make it flat.
@insomniasugarspite90566 жыл бұрын
@@LoomaHat I'm not worried about the stuffing part i just wanted to make a little tunnel like structured that would keep my hands warm while waiting for to bus. And the hand muff was the only thing i could think of. I can make up for the lack of stuffing with a thicker warmer yarn, but i have no idea how to go about it. Hence why i asked you, you always make such amazing stuff so i figured if anyone could do it, it would be you.

I've made this twice and I end up with 1 peg at the end. What am I doing wrong?! It's a little lop-sided tree!
@LoomaHat4 ай бұрын
I wouldn't worry too much about the extra peg - it shouldn't have any effect on the pattern. If you find that it's turning out lop-sided (I made one like that on purpose because it reminds me of Dr Seuse) it have two ways of fixing that ... make sure to stuff your project well and you can insert a craft pipe cleaner like this amzn.to/3VYcIkL

Why you knit in opposite direction?? Messes up us regular knitters. 🙄
@LoomaHat3 жыл бұрын
Hi Tabitha - when I started I only had 10 mins worth of instructions from a craft rep so when I got home I guess my ADD brain captured it in that direction and back then there was not a lot of loom knitting video. Now, I do it out of habit. For someone with an attention disorder, habit is EXTREMELY vital to be able to create... And most of my projects can be done in the both direction. Hope that makes sense.
