Hi Cassie, leaving your stitches a little loose is not a problem--it will actually make it easier to knit the stitches. The scrap yarn holds the "cast on" edge to keep it neat until you're ready to finish the ends. See the "Loom Knitting: How to Bind Off for Double Knitting" video to see when it's removed and finished. Hope that helps!

This video helped alot, and I also noticed my stitches were very loose, but I think I just need to pull a little tighter. But, i'm curious, why the scrap yarn in the beginning part? When you do take that out? What purpose does it serve?

Hi, Cassie. In this video, we used Martha Stewart Crafts Alpaca Blend, which is a bulky weight (category 5) yarn. A thicker yarn might help you get better results.

@CurlyJuliaful Hi there, during the cast-on, the stitches will be on the loose-side for double-knitting. (This is because you'll go back and then finish off this edge with a crochet chain bind-off, which you can see in the double-knitting bind-off video.) In the meantime, it's fine to continue working on your project! Hope that helps!

What do you do with the slip not that you put on the green peg? Do you just leave it there? You don't knit that slip knot onto one of the pink pegs?

In addition to my last comment: In your next video: How to double knit it shows the slip knot still on the green peg but then in the video for: Loom Knitting: How to Bind Off for Double Knitting - the slip knot is not on the green peg anymore. Where did it go? Please respond - thank you.

I've done exactly what you have showed in your video numerous times. It is TOO loose and not the look I want. I'm using a 4 but using 2 strands. Help I can not figure this out and I am beyond frustrsted.

I'm wondering if the issue i'm running into is that i'm trying to double knit with a size 4 worsted yarn, acrylic, even on the small pegs with them beside each other (not skipping holes). it's just too thin i think. i just can't duplicate a double knit piece on the loom that looks like one i can make with needles.

This looks so easy, and yet it's not working for me! What am I doing wrong? The stitches are coming out SO loose. I swear I'm doing exactly what your doing! The only difference is that I have my loom set up like in the book, not in the video. (with green pegs in a row, no spaces in between, instead of your pink pegs with spaces)
