We didn't make actual cuts of anything physical in the gym, that was considered to be the sin of Pride, or something like that. Yo that last one I can relate to. I'm deaf in 1 ear so I always sleep on my good ear and don't hear shit. One year a hurricane hit and knocked over an entire oak tree and it fell on the neighbor's car. I slept right through the whole thing. A couple of things happened at once, and it's all due to overreaction. First, notice that the priest is literally right on the edge of the platform - one single step back and he's falling off. The bride is almost just as close as he is, but it's to her right side (and she's maybe just one step farther away). When the groomsman falls, she way overreacts. She could have stood still and been just fine. Instead, she freaks out, and simultaneously braces herself on the priest's shoulder and tries to step to her right before thinking about anything at all (if you watch, she moves to the right without even looking to her left to see what happened, nor to her right to remind herself that she can't go that way). When she tries to brace herself on the priest's shoulder, it jerks him back and, well, he has no room to step back. When she stepped right, her right leg stepped off the platform, awkwardly finding no footing - which pulls both her and the priest into the water. Basically, she did it to herself.
