Wow I honestly wonder how Tex Avery made episodes with many 4th wall breaks and exaggerations and all that kind of stuff.

This is more of a documentary on Tex Avery’s amazing work on Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies than a “Behind The Scenes”, but still very great stuff.

I kinda wish I was around in the 30s and 40s to watch these films in a theatre. It must’ve been so cool.

I wonder when this was filmed? I'm guessing sometime in the 1970s.

@@WindowsGG Yes, the reason it’s called Looney Tunes is because they started off making music films in the early-late 30s before switching to mostly hunting films.

Does anyone know what cartoon Tex is referring to with the character shattering into pieces, reshaping himself, etc?
@CornelioLazarus-sg4gx Жыл бұрын
Wasn't Daffy Duck considered one of Tex Avery's least favorite characters to work on. Heard the same thing about Screwy Squirrel which was why that character had only a few cartoons since his last short back in the golden age pretty much killed him off in Lonesome Lenny.

Even Screwy Squirrel is like “Sad Ending, isn’t it?”
@CornelioLazarus-sg4gx11 ай бұрын
@robbiewalker2831 Yeah. While I love golden slapstick tricksters like Woody Woodpecker and Wacky Daffy, I think Screwy is my favorite.

Tex Avery is the creator of my favorite character, Daffy Duck.

@abno_406 I know, it's just somewhere I heard that Avery, for some reason, wasn't proud of the character as he was with Bugs or Droopy. I also heard he wasn't fond of Walter Lantz's Woody Woodpecker, which is probably why he worked on Chilly Willy instead when he went to work for Walter Lantz for a brief period of time.

Maybe he thought those characters were too stereotypically wacky??
