The game is getting too fast for players to continue to not wear eye protection. The one place a pickleball can do some serious damage is the eyeball. Collin was just lucky that ball wasn't an inch to either side.

Totally agree, that outcome would have been very very different if it hit the eyeball. It doesn't matter if your an amateur or pro, just not worth it loosing an eye. People really underestimate the significance of eye protection.

Collin Johns... laying on the ground for minutes, they go to commercial, come back... still on the ground, not really moving much, in obvious discomfort... and not a single medical personnel comes over to look at him and help out? Not even an official? Did they not have anyone on sight to attend to someone who is hurt? I think that's a major fail on the PPA's part. Sheesh.

There was a 15 min timeout. Medical was there and staff. That was all cut out.

@@PPAtour LOL... He was on the ground for almost 3 minutes, just lying there. The ONLY person who was at his side during that time, was Ben. The officials didn't even come over in that time (WTF?). The camera didn't cut away at all and nothing was cut out UNTIL he eventually got up on his own and went to sit on the bench. Then the camera goes black and tuff was cut, because the next thing you see is Collin back on the court and play had resumed. If there indeed were medical personnel there, they were EXTREMELY SLOW getting on the court to assist. It took them at LEAST 4 minutes to come on the court. That's an eternity when someone is lying down, hurt, and may need immediate assistance, when medical personnel are indeed on scene. He could have taken a ball directly to the eye and had a serious eye injury and needed immediate assistance to help save his eye... and that immediate help just wasn't there. Gotta do better. EDIT: Just watched it at .25 speed and slowed it way down. Ball didn't even hit him in the head. It directly hit the bill of his visor. Didn't touch his face. Sooooo.... I guess if it HAD actually hit him in the face, they'd have signaled for some help to get there quickly. Collin may have told Ben he was fine and was just slowing things down. With that said... assistance still should have been there on their own quickly. Nobody knew for sure he wasn't hit in the face.

Natty is beast mode.we gonna have to give him a new nickname.the natty East!he has stepped up his serve game and his dink game has improved so much.think he's better dinker than Ben on this day.if natty could get a partner that could reduce his errors he would be difficult to handle. I like the perfect way natty beast mixes the ice with the fire.he has reduced his errors to a minimum,while turning up the heat.i like the way he's hunting the johns bros with way more determination to kill his prey with the body bag,to the head preferred.eityer way he's hunting,they are subtle and doing the best they can to not look afraid but you can tell they are.and it seems his gun shoots a larger caliber,and it's got a Laser sight calibrated after each shot and is dead zeroed in.theres something to be said for those guys peop!e call bangers.they love to constantly hit it hard as they can.but they are so easy to defeat,when you beat it back at them,selectively,under control,and let alot of their balls just go long.The best way to play pickleball is how natty East is playing.smart,under control,exacting,calculated,aggressive to the opponants body and face,search everybody bag possible,while blending with error free dinking,and letting out balls hit to you go out.its got the johns off their game.because everyones strategy when they play them is to match them dink for dink.this plays into the johns strengths.it allows their fear of the ball to never come into play.because everyone trys matching dink for dink and dont often just try to sqaure them up and give them fireballs at the body and head.which noone does.....until now..... james can

Ok.its only 2 to 0 and already long hits easy slow return etc 1.5 feet below bottom of net.then Pappa jimmy serves long.then then long into net then Pappa Jimmie into net on a simple dink.4 unforced errors.4 errors on simple shots.we all know that in pickle ball,the matures and pros alike tend to miss the easiest shots and make the most difficult.and we also know that johns bros won't make that many that many mistakes in just the first 2 points of the game,the rest of the entire matches possibly.and we also know that in pickleball ,no lead is too great or uncatchable.but it still amazes me how teams put themselves so much in the hole with unforced ,unnecessary errors against the johns.i mean to start the entire matches on the day.more than a bad signof things to come.if these teams could reduce the amount of errors against them.and i have no doubt that natty and long will make a rally,but many opponents do to be beat at the end....if they just could reduce the errors....sounds easy doesnt it .lolgood luck with that

I never saw scary.....I did see funny...Everytime the camera showed Collins face......it was a hard hit...I guess pickleballs can leave a good mark,and cause a lot of pain.ive been hit as hard as you can in the face and while it was red and hurt I guess my pride wouldn't let me stay out for more than a 10 second delay.....I don't think Colin could play football,and especially baseball.....I can imagine him getting drilled in the kidney with a 101 mph fastball like arolus Chapman his the right fielder in the world series at 101mph....omg ....Colin would have been like this one kid on my sons 12 yrs old little league team.my pitcher loved to throw everyball including warm ups from the first pitch.so he threw harder than any kid in the league.but his arm was damaged I think because he started not being able to hit the strike zone.he hit the first batter.then threw 9 balls in a row,fast as fire,the kids were already scared of the speed,but now he's throwing above ,behind,in the dirt,everywhere.😅so the next batter was scared shitless,as I herd his coach tell him to get closer to the plate.he was barely in the batters box.coach was like hes not gonna hit ya.get up to the plate.the kid tentively inches closer.then my pitcher throws a heater in the perfect cant avoid forward or back.and the kid turns his back and the ball drille him dead center.omg.....is it bad that i still chuckle when i think about it.that kid dropped to the dirt.on the sweatiest 105 degree Georgia humid sun.at 1pm wearing a white jersee.and wht pants.the kid screamed blood cuddling screams and started rolling flipping rotating, basting himself in the red dirt ,crying,screaming,and this went on for 6 minutes .while the game stopped.wasnt long before the entire complex of 3 games fiels hurt the noise and was watching at the fence and stands to see the commotion...the entire complex was laughing.trying not to . But no use.the kid rolled and screamed trying to reach the unreachable middle back spot.funniest thing I ever saw in baseball.at least Collin didn't scream and roll.lol.the next batter,15 mins later would not get into the batters box.i had to remove my pitcher.😊
