"She's so in to it...." I've watched so many videos of this girl and her live performances. I honestly dont think I've seen music flow through anyone as much as her. Tash Sultana IS music.

beautifully put...we're going to see her next month for the 3rd time...I'm 74 years young and Tash give me hope for our future. An astonishingly beautiful blend of pain, joy, beauty and truth in so many of her songs.

Dave, so glad you checked this out. Other videos (triple J performances here in Australia) show her using a Roland SP-404 from memory. Sounds are onboard rather than a midi controller. Tash streamed a whole live concert a few weeks ago, the arsenal of gear has grown dramatically!

I saw her live almost two years ago here in Michigan. Concert was sold-out outdoor amphitheater. She killed it. I went by myself hoping to score a ticket. No tickets since it was sold-out. Security guard just let me in for free! I ended up near the front of the stage and had a blast.

I was also at that concert at Frederick Meijer Gardens! I also didn’t have tickets because I snoozed and didn’t snag them in time but kept checking stub hub for the resale prices to go down (they were insane!). Day of I was so bummed I wasn’t going to be there and checked and two tickets were released for $45. I assume a member of FMG couldn’t use them and I just happened to check at the right time. That show was like a religious experience.

@@andrewwilliams6608 oh wow! That's awesome! I'm going to see Shakey Graves at FMG in a few weeks. Only this time, I actually bought tickets!

So much life in the initial loop build. I dunno what her regular busking spot is like, but I can imagine that helping to build an edge of curious onlookers before the vocal comes in (which then proceeds to deliver). She’d be a delight to bottle for.

Check her out on Tiny Table Concert. Gives the best close up of her face and she is clearly euphoric when she's in her space.

Great vid 😊 you know, I saw this waaay before the first viral wave and after watching it again I can't believe how long it's been since I saw it last. Love it 👌 lovely piece of flow state creativity - is it maybe a launchpad doing the beats? 🤔 Not sure, just a guess by size/shape
@davidshanhun3 жыл бұрын
that's pretty cool you saw it early! It sure is eh! Could be a launchpad, the 4 or so knobs up the top make me think it's not quite though. She's got the Roland SPD in a bunch of the more recent live vids... but still trying to figure out this one! 😜

Hi David, New to the channel but loving what I see. I’m currently waiting for my Boss RC-30 to arrive, and I’m new to looping. So I had a question. How do you figure out what bass line to play for a song?
@davidshanhun3 жыл бұрын
Hey Zane! Congrats on getting an RC-30 (when it arrives). To start with for bass lines you can use the root note of the chord you are playing to keep it simple, or I’d recommend learning the actual bass line from the song. Jungle is a really good one to start to get an idea - Tash uses just the root note of each chord, and you can just copy her rhythm. Simple and effective 👌

I think it was recorded on a Zoom Q2N. Cool but a bit repetitive but that can happen when looping. Edit: I will agree though that it made me want to grab the Jazzmaster and do my thing. I usually use a Martin or Taylor but really want to start doing the solo stuff with my electrics as they are collecting dust now with the global predicament we find ourselves. Take care bro!

Suggestion from european older millenial : D - check Dub FX (I would suggest Flow with Mr Woodnote or Love Someone, both recorded in the streets around 2008)
