LOOPER PEDAL vs DESKTOP LOOPER

I've seen great musicians use these pedals and provide an entire band back up for a verse, phrase/solo, vocal harmony, or chorus. I have never seen them do a whole song on loop. Great tools though for practice and to let you know how good your timing is. For keyboardists we should have a MIDI looper pedal, but I don't see those around. We could loop up to 16 channels of MIDI and different sounds from a multi-timbral keyboard. There would be zero degradation in sound with MIDI. Could be MIDI is just too undependable compared to audio. As practice and skill developing tools these pedals look brilliant.

I'm glad I ended up with the RC 600. I almost got the RC 202. I intended to use it with both synth and guitar. Me on synth and someone else on guitar. Unfortunately it's sitting in its box. It'll come in handy someday. Thanks again for another great video.

Hi Woody, for me the perfect setup is Turnado from Sugar Bytes, connected to Ableton with the use of Akai's Midi mix and a Launchpad pro 3. Clearly that's a desktop setup. Using my feet for anything other than a clutch, brake or accelerator is all alien to me.

What a useful video. A question that I imagine lots of people want the answer to at some point in their musical journey. The thing that would be most important to me is the size of the memory for the loop. For instance, I'd probably never need more than a single bar- so 12-18 seconds is fine. But if you're doing more complex arrangements, you need more than that. Anyway, nice bit of work Mr Woody.
