Looping Thunder front seat on-ride HD POV Oaks Amusement Park

The Zyklon ZL42 is the third looping roller coaster model built by Pinfari & became a very popular due to its small footprint of 138X62 feet (42X19m). In fact, they remain so popular that only three of the 17 still in operation have been relocated. All of the others, including this one, are still standing in their original parks.

Richard Castromayor We don't have amusement parks. This is the only one in the Portland Metropolitan Area. The advantage of our parks is that no one is there on certain days, and you can ride the same ride 7 times over a thirty minute period.

See, here in Oregon we have this stuff that falls out of the sky 8 out of the 12 months in a year called "rain" so nobody wants to invest in the big fancy thrill rides like they have in California or Florida because they would only be making their money back during a few months each year rather than year round. We like our little park just fine, if you don't, then book your vacation at Disneyworld.

This was my first loop roller coaster! So many memories. Too bad they're tearing it down. The first and only time I ever got to ride this was last year on my birthday! I hate roller coasters but I actually remember I had tons of fun on this one because it doesn't have a huge drop and the drop is what scares me

Oaks park is getting a Gerstlauer Euro Fighter coaster! it's going to replace the looping thunder and will have a beyond 90 degree drop i'm guessing. This will be AWESOME!

One time, I road this ride like 5 times in a row. I was the only person riding it. And the guy working it was Mexican. And then, after that 5th ride, he started yelling at me in spanish and i ran away from him. Best day ever.

if you dont look at what the ride actually does, youll be fine, its fear holding you back to doo all that stuff, so you have to try and find an openening in your fear and just do it, trust me, youll love these sort of rides if you just give it a go. :)

Maybe someone could explain this to me but watching this video I noticed that on the final turn right before the brake run into the loading station there is another curved track located below that final turn but the coaster train does not seem to travel on that piece of track. This part is located beginning at 1:12. Any info if this is maybe just a spare track or even a storage track but it is curved so I don't think that it is for storage.

Well I am sure that the owner of this small family park located on a parking lot ( by the way it looks ) will just whip out his check book and write one for 8 million dollars to G.C.I. ( Great Coasters International ) to build the nations largest wooden rollercoaster. It is obvious that you don't work in finance or even any business to understand that to make money you have to spend MORE money. I am sure this park is doing its best and the young kids sure do love it.

The looping blunder- oaks had this poor excuse for a coaster for at least fifteen years now. It holds nothing compared to the old monster mouse, that thing was a trip to watch, even more of a thrill to ride. Next time ride in the back or center, this thing beats your knees to death an slams you around good. I worked the snack bar for a summer back in '98 and road this thing all the time. A lame coaster for a lame city full of lame yuppies.

Why is it that Oregon has only 2 parks (was three before thrillville was removed) and hasn't had a new coaster in park for literally 50 years. Don't try to defend this ride you six flags enthusiasts know this ride is pretty bad, it's bumpy, it's short, it had bad cars and seats, it is low maintained, and it will shake you around more then there are people On this earth. The only this thing had is a little or charm. Seriously Oregon get good park, talk to cedar fair or six flags! Plus it's the only roller coaster in port-fricken-land! It's the biggest city in Oregon, so please, please, get Gud Oregon!

I live just about 3 miles from the park and yes they need to build another park but I have to say. For this amusement park being within the city limits and close to other cool place. It sure is a cool park and looping thunder is a great ride. And if anyone is curious. The other theme park in Oregon is called enchanted forest just south of Salem,Oregon
