Hello Ziv @ Loopop! This is the first of your videos I've seen. The music, performance, and sounds are outstanding, no doubt. It's also an incredibly efficient way to demo MANY synths in a musical context. I'm intrigued as to the method you devised and equipment you used to connect, record, sync and put this all together. Thanks for sharing, and cheers on your excellent execution of a unique and ambitious concept!

Genius! You just made all other (famous) reviewers look like they are from stone age! By using a very creative approach to sharing your experience with these gorgeous instruments, you remind us that it is the art and creativity combined with cutting edge technology what makes synthesizers and electronic music so attractive (to me at least!) Thank you...

You must have planned this out well in advance? Please tell me you did, and this wasn't just an amazing accident? - Actually, is doesn't matter, don't say either way, I like not knowing. It reminds me of a certain melody/chord progression from the Nintendo game, Zelda. It's not exactly the same, but the descending feeling, from minor, to diminished, to major... it's a very settling series of chords. Man, how did you do this?! So cool!

If you ever have the time, I would love to see, by you, with your typical table of contents, oscilloscope and frequency analyzer, a series on sound synthesis, going over the relevant electrical and sound theory then into the sound generation and modulation concepts with clear, exaggerated, and musical sound examples at all times. I would be happy to help script it, and even to do a French voice-over and Spanish subtitles (or vice-versa) for a non-English version. That certainly would be very helpful for me. I'm thinking in the style of your two-part series on synth tricks, but maybe in 5 or 6 installments going over the main concepts and demystifying them as much as possible (granted, the sum of your videos and thousands more out there may give one the same knowledge after a while but it would still be nice)
@loopop
@loopop 6 жыл бұрын
Hey - thanks for the willingness to help - I'm actually thinking about the exact concept and how to put it together well. May is pretty packed with Moogfest but afterwards I hope to get to it. Feel free to PM me any ideas you think I should cover (no need to script...) and translations would be cool when it comes out!

@loopop
@loopop 6 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! I really appreciate it. No, no music elsewhere except in the reviews themselves. I typically just like jamming with gear and seeing where it goes in real time and am not (currently?) inspired to invest the extra effort in bringing a track to completion... it's only these mashups that get me going to finish a darn track ;)
@ToyKeeper
@ToyKeeper 6 жыл бұрын
Okay, so perhaps I haven't missed anything after all. And, unfortunately, I know the feeling. Most of my music-device time is more meditative or recreational, and I rarely actually finish anything. But I'm hoping to change that, to actually finish and share songs again. I think it'll help to have a decent sequencer like a Digitakt or Deluge, but I don't know if that's real or if it's just the GAS talking.
@loopop
@loopop 6 жыл бұрын
yeah, that's the beauty of recording everything at the show - there's no way to get more footage or second chances at re-recording, so finishing a track is a little bit easier... regarding sequencer - this whole channel is GAS talking ;) you can do great with, and do great without
@ToyKeeper
@ToyKeeper 6 жыл бұрын
Regardless, the two things I run into the most (aside from the obvious problem of motivation), are not having good sequencing tools and not having a very good drum machine. My attempts to use a DAW for this have not been particularly enjoyable or productive. So I decided a while back to get a Digitakt as soon as I get some things done on my todo list. It does both and is pretty widely loved. Where the GAS really comes in is for stuff I don't have such an obvious need for, but is nevertheless amazing gear. Like a Novation Peak. Absolutely fantastic sound. Or, to be perhaps a bit more practical, an Analog Four. But now I've gone off into tangential lamentations, so I'll stop. All I was really getting at is that it's a treat whenever you put out a new song.
