Hey there - thanks to everyone for your interest! For those of you asking for a "passthrough" feature, wanting to use a regular sustain pedal alongside PLUS 3 - a simple passive splitter in your instrument's sustain jack should work just fine! Please check out our manual for tips on setting this up, because you'll need to be mindful of polarity settings and have access to them for this to work: endorphines.info/manuals/P3_Pedal_manual.pdf

I can see the value if this little thing, and I am surprised it didn't already exist. Congrats! I think the price of €65 is very reasonable for what it is, given it is not a mass-production. On the other hand, if you have any soldering skills, you immediately know that this is a thing that is hilariously easy to make yourself for a few bucks: a handful of basic components and you're good to go. No advanced electronics required. It's a really nice beginner's DIY project: it could be sold as a kit. Anyhoo, it's a great idea. And I'll probably make one this weekend for my main MIDI-keyboard. :)
@sub-jec-tivАй бұрын
I have an Old Blood Noise fader, but that’s just the fader part; it doesn’t have the sustain aspect. This thing is super useful 👌
@xfghffhfgАй бұрын
I can solder, but sourcing the right parts and fitting them into an appropriate enclosure can be challenging. This often requires tools I don't necessarily have on hand, and I may encounter unforeseen issues, as is common with any project. Unless you typically build your own electronics, the process can take many hours including designing and resource parts, and the final result might not turn out as expected. If it was sold as a kit, sure, but I don't think that would make it much cheaper. A fundamental rule in engineering is, never build what you can buy! especially if it's cheap :)
@brumdАй бұрын
@@xfghffhfg This is a classic case of "think outside the box", in the most literal sense. Of course, it is sold in a nice enclosure, but if you DIY a simple thing like this (as said, this does hardly involve any electronics) you don't actually *need* an enclosure, since there aren't any parts that can break or get damaged. Solder it on a prototyping board and you're good to go. It's that simple. And if you *do* want one for aesthetic reasons, you only need some easy to cut sheet material (2-3mm) and a box cutter, and a few minutes time. It's that simple. And yes, a kit consisting of a PCB with the parts would have a cost price of ~$5, so a selling price of $15-20 would be justified, which is already a fraction of the retail price (which is a perfectly reasonable price btw).
@brumdАй бұрын
@@sub-jec-tiv " it doesn’t have the sustain aspect." Sustain is far more easier than expression, it's just an on/off signal. Connect the 2 wires from the TS-plug together and -lo-and-behold: sustain is on. Disconnect them, and sustain is off. So, what you need to mimic the exact behaviour of this pedal is 1) an ON-ON switch (so called SPDT = Single Pole Double Throw, e.g. MTS-102) and 2) an SPDT push button; this is slightly trickier since you want a momentary button with 3 legs, while most have 2. Most 'micro switches' have 3). Then wire them up in a way that when the switch is set to ON, the button *breaks* the connection, and when the switch is set to OFF, the button *makes* the connection. This is super easy to show in a diagram (but a bit harder in words).
@xfghffhfgАй бұрын
@@brumd This is a classic case of arguing for the sake of argument. Anyone with a breadboard knows how to connect low-quality passive parts, but no one wants that. The box serves more than just an aesthetic purpose, no one will take a flimsy breadboard anywhere without a box. Cutting subpar materials will not give this box the strength it needs. And what about quality? A kit can cost "X" or 10X depending on the quality of the parts. You are right about one thing: the build itself is relatively inexpensive. So selling it as a kit to lower the retail price doesn't make sense. And you know what’s truly inexpensive? Words. If it’s so simple for you why not show us how it’s done? It might be easier than crafting a response.

Neat product and great video, but you're missing a segment of the market I feel by not including a MIDI out or at least USB to MIDI capabilities. For instance, I'd love to pair this thing with my MPC, but as that has no sustain or expression input... I'd have to use a MIDI controller with sustain and expression just to essentially decode the MIDI CC signal from this. I hope to see a deluxe version that has MIDI out and/or USB in the future. Very neat product regardless though.

Dear Loopop….I just recieven the Plus 3 today. I wanted to test the sostanudo function with my MPC keys 37, but I can’t get it to work although it has a Cc 066 function. Is there something that I’m doing wrong?
@loopop11 күн бұрын
Hey - thanks for buying PLUS 3. As far as I know, MPC plugins don't "respect" sostenuto messages (at least not the ones I tried), so even if you assigned the footswitch to 66 properly, MPC programs don't respond to it. It might work in controller mode if you use a third party plugin that supports sostenuto. You can test if it's actually sending out CC66 if you hook up your MPC to a MIDI monitor on a computer, but that won't give you sostenuto on an MPC. However, you can get a sostenuto-like effect using a split and two different programs (note not to use the same one if you're on MPC 2.15 or lower!). Use the regular CC64 for PLUS 3's FS port. Then, go to the track menu, and apply a MIDI filter to have the track you don't want to be "sostenutoed", so that CC64 is ignored. Now you've got one split's droning controlled by PLUS 3, and the other split ignoring PLUS 3 (as long as it's using a different program). So, not quite sostenuto but it plays the same way as long as you're OK with a split!
