Loose Battery Terminal Cheap and Easy Fix

My Honda Civic did this to me today. Took it to Honda dealership & they wanted to change the whole battery cable for $600 out the door just for one terminal clamp. Lol Went to advance auto & spent $12.00 for the shim and dielectric grease & ended up saving hundreds lol. Thank god for KZbin & folks like you. Thanks brother. ✊

No problem, that's what the KZbin community is for! It's crazy some of the stuff they get away with when people don't know any better. Hope you're having some fun with that Civic. Gotta love a car that's cheap, light, and a blast to drive if you treat it right. Only wish they handled snow and ice a bit better haha

Shouldn’t you connect the positive back up first? The negative goes off first and back second. The positive is the only terminal that should be solely connected at any time.

You are correct to prevent any shorts if the positives already connected there's no chance of it shorting when you're attaching the ground second but other than that it's potato potato if you're careful

At least you don’t got a hummer. I sat in my vehicle for 30 minutes thinking it was the anti theft mechanism that starts a timer for 10 minutes and holds your key hostage in the ignition key cylinder. I waited long enough and figured maybe if I reset the car by pulling the battery terminals off for a while, it would start up again. Well I popped the hood and it was a loose terminal
