When you slapped that black on and it ran down, I was horrified! I knew, however, that you would pull it together at the end. 👏😊

Thank you! The black is Lunar Black from DS, it's not a traditional black, it's more like of a "black sand with ox gal". It looks black when there is no water added, but even a little run of water destroys it very quickly and makes it super transparent. It doesn't stain at all.

First, this was amazing to watch and your final product is just beautiful. I’m unfortunately watching this on my phone so I’m not sure if I’m seeing what I think I’m seeing. Toward the end, did the figure in the right foreground become a beautifully highlighted tree? Or was that always the plan? It is a tree in the reference but It read as a figure for a bit but when you placed the tree in there-wow! I was just wondering what your process was at that moment. If that was a spontaneous edit, you really pulled it off. Either way, beautiful! Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you! It was a class demonstration for my students and I wanted to show how little things like that affect final result. Yes, the tree was planed :)

Thanks for your response. Yes, little things like that DO make an enormous difference-something I’m just beginning to figure out as a beginner. Thank you again for sharing your talent.

Amazing, thanks for the video. I'm just getting into granulating colours and use Daniel Smith, love the "waterfall" effect of the grey tone running down. Lol😮maybe I'm not brave enough to spray my paintings.

Thank you! Yes, I did this in class for my students and it was nerve wracking for all to paint over with black and then again run watery blue mix over it. I'm sure a lot of artists can relate, but I usually say, you just have to trust the technique and hope for the best, it's just a painting at the end of the day ☺️
