This is the best rendition by far, captures the elation and then the disappointment of the brave Wexford men of 1798. Thank you very much ladies and gentlemen of the Wexford Traditional Singers for the absolutely brilliant singing delivered from the heart. My family on my mothers side directly connected to Father John Murphy. Another relative, on my father's side, Denis Carey, Old Leighlin rebel leader, Carlow, was hung, drawn and quartered by the yeomen and his head carried home by his wife in her apron - tough, ruthless times. We honour and respect all the men and women of the 1798 patriots who fought and died for the freedom of Ireland from tyranny.
