9:50 Melting these themes together was..... fucking brilliant. The arrangement is one hell of a kind here.

You got me right in my feels. I vaguely remember playing through Zelda on the NES that I was so ecstatic on Christmas morn when I opened up Ocarina of Time. I spent so much time playing it I killed my first n64, needless to say when I listened to this in it's entirety the love all your performers have for this craft is felt through out the piece. Thank you all for everything you have done, I want to see you in person so bad.

6:36 Excellent interpretation of the Temple of Time theme. I feel that these musicians display considerably more passion in their play compaired to classical professional orchestras.

A predominantly wind orchestra is so interesting and inspiring. Is the layout/positioning of performers/instruments designed to be similar to string sections or do you come up with a totally different layout for wind sections?
4 жыл бұрын
Hi soundyg, thank you! The position of musicians in a symphonic, string or wind orchestra depends on the region/country and the conductor's preferences. In a wind orchestra it's necessary to make sure that the very powerful brass instruments do not cover the woodwinds, which are placed in front :)

In the OJV arrangements the playing is quite often at odds with my expectations (which, to make that clear upfront, are not at all educated or experienced). An example from this piece: When the tuba dies out at 2:30, it appears to me as if the tuba player ran out of air; especially since that doesn’t happen that extremely second time this phrase is played (2:38). So, not intending any offence, was the piece arranged this way, or did the tuba player really lose his breath midway? I should acknowledge that these little things that I might consider mistakes in other orchestras make the OJV stand out to me.

Hi ! The tuba player did not run out of air, the musical line is not the same twice :)
