I think it might be more like a crossover. They're preparing drama called Si Ming (the name of that deity they translated as Arbiter in this drama) for years now and while I could find little details, nothing about the cast, Drama Wiki lists it as related drama to Love Between Fairy and Devil. I was actually hoping to find some mentions here, perhaps from someone not limited to English sources.

Interesting. The Siming intro music is epic! But I don't understand why siming should be angry with dongfang. He said all those hurtful things to orchid only in the hope of saving her life. Also, I don't understand why dongfang kept blaming himself for treating Orchid poorly in the past. I think the way the drama version of dongfang treated Orchid is ten times better than the way the original book version of demon king treated orchid. Even the demon king was forgiven in the novel in a satisfactory manner. Feel bad for dongfang. Hope everything ends well soon & all kinds of pains & disappointment gets erased. I just can't see dongfang suffer anymore! 😅

He was the character to sacrifice. Always had the minus one. If breaking Orchid's heart to save her resulting in that punishment, Orchid also did the same thing to Dongfang Qingcang (forgetting him, abandoning him, marrying his rival) and even got worse. And none punished her, even SiMing.

He didn't deserve it, he broke Orchid's heart to save her life and he suffered soooo much pain for her even more than she suffered for him, so no he didn't deserve any more pain
