a) i've always liked Castlereagh thru references to him and his wife by Martha Wilmot (Bradford) in her letters from Vienna b) the panelists say that he contracted some kind of VD in college days, which means he must have passed it on to his poor wife. I notice in Wikipedia, they say that Amelia Stewart's hea;lth failed and she died in 1829 (this would be 7 years after her husband's death). I wish they would have said something about the effect it probably would have had on his wife when the subject was brought it up. I believe VD must have been rampant then without the medicines we have - and the wives would have suffered.
