LET'S TALK ABOUT STUFF: Hopefully the person this is about never sees this. So, this episode, number 5, is the worst one for me, not even her killing herself or Clay's tape made me as upset or left me crying as hard as this one episode, and the parts where this song played. The specific is when Hannah and Clay look at each other lock eyes and kind of awkwardly wave at each other, then Jeff tells him to go get her. Picture this. You (Me) are at prom with the girl you've liked for over a year and a half, you're pretty much in love with her. Her friend wants one slow dance with her. Slow dance comes on, don't even remember the song, we looked at each other slightly, and I let her friend take her for this one. There wasn't another slow song for the entire night. Imagine the pain and regret of having come within 3 minutes of the best moment of your life, something that makes you feel sick to your stomach in a good way. All to be cut down by you letting her off with her friend. Every time I watch this episode or hear this song, all I can think about is that night, and wishing I had someone there to tell me "Tonight, you can do anything"

the last episode, the dance, every main character huddling around each other when this played, showing all their love and care, even if they had a discomfort around one another. that moment was so precious, venting out about hannah and clay’s first dance to this song. it’s truly incredible. before this song played, when the “fun” music played, i cried, because i never saw the “main characters” be so happy with each other. and then, the dj played this and instantly all the feels came out. this was an amazing song choice. props 👏
