Lord, I Need You by Lori Beene Robinson, Christian/Gospel Singer/Songwriter, scripture/lyric video

Philippians 4:13 says "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." I am nothing without the Lord and I can do nothing without His help. That is what I was thinking about the day that I wrote this song. I was also thinking about the old hymn, "I Need Thee Every Hour", and decided to put my own spin on that and say, "Lord, I Need You every hour, every minute, every second of every day."
This song, "Lord, I Need You", was written in May of 2018. It is the 7th song on my CD/Album "Trust in the Lord with All Thine Heart", which I recorded in July of 2018. That whole album was written telling the amazing story of how God had helped me and answered a prayer that I had prayed about for over a year. Little did I know at the time that the Lord would be answering another prayer that I had also prayed about which was getting to sing at the ABA Women's Retreat. I had prayed that I would get an opportunity to sing at that retreat in 2017 because I had written a song entitled "Trust in the Lord with All Thine Heart" and their theme for the meeting that year was "In All Thy Ways Acknowledge Him" which all of the verses from Proverbs 3:5,6 was in the chorus of my song. When I found out their theme for that year, I wondered why the Lord would not arrange for me to sing my song that would go perfect with their theme for that year (2017). The Lord's timing is not our timing and our thoughts are not His thoughts. He knows what is best for us and He showed me that first through letting my song, "Missionaries", go the ABA National Meeting in 2017 and now He was going to show me again that I need to trust Him and His timing.
Like I said, I had prayed to also get to sing at this women's retreat a year earlier and I just thought, "Well, I guess it is just not the Lord's will that I get to do that and I accepted that." I kept writing the songs that the Lord was giving me and did not have a clue that He was going to answer that prayer also just at a different time and in a better way!
I received a phone call three days after I had written the song, "Lord, I Need You", asking me to sing at "guess what?", the ABA Women's Retreat in Benton, AR in September, 2018. I asked her what the theme was for the meeting and she said "Jesus is the Anchor of my soul"! Wow, the Lord does know what He is doing and He knows the perfect time for everything. I was able to incorporate their theme for 2018 into my song, "Lord, I Need You" and it fit perfectly just like the Lord had planned for it to do. So, not only did I get to sing at this meeting that I had prayed to sing at a year earlier but He let me write the song that would go with their theme for the next year also before I even knew what their theme was and before I even knew that they would ask me to sing. I would also have all of my songs there on CDs. The Lord was definitely working all things together for good in my life. I am so in Awe and so Amazed by the Lord and all the Great Things that He has done for me! Every song on my Album, "Trust in the Lord with All Thine Heart", was given to me to tell a story about God answering prayers and the theme of my whole Album is to "Trust in the Lord and Don't Give Up"! He is the ALMIGHTY! He is the Lord and there is none else beside Him! I just want to praise my Lord and bring Him honor and glory and tell others that He does care and He does answer prayers! He answers sometimes with, "Yes!", sometimes with "No!" and sometimes with, "Wait on Him and His Perfect Timing!"

The last part of John 15:5 says, "for without ME ye can do nothing." Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." That is why I need the Lord! Psalm 121:2 says, " My help cometh from the Lord...."
