Great lyrics, great music, great delivery. I haven't laughed so hard for a long time. What a great Calypsonian writer! I love the irony of somebody who came from a former slave population advocating the use of the lash on young white lads, and I'm sure Lord Invader was well aware of the humour in it. Fantastic stuff.

Old time Cat O Nine Refers to the rope with 'nine tails' which was used to flog sailors who had misbehaved. When a Sailor was to be punished the cat was let out of the bag, and made ready. This song is reference to tough punishment for tough people. Makes sense it is about Britain and Trinidad, both places with a lot of ships. Whatever your position, One must admit, it is strange for a black man (Lord Invader) whose ancestors were slaves, to sing in praise of whipping as a form of punishment.
