I completely agree. For me it is also one of the most beautiful rock ballads ever. The album Breakfast In America is full of other great songs. It's a shame, we will probably never see the original line-up of Supertramp with Roger Hodgson & Rick Davis again.

Awesome I too was 16 in 1979 this music inspired me so much in my youth and still to this day this song is my all time favorite great job!

I was 4 in 1979. This sing and ‘“Breakfast in America”. Thanks to my aunt, back then playing that tape in her 1979 Blazer inspired and encouraged me musically. One of of all time favorites

Extremely soulful .. what a great compliment! Yes, maybe Roger's inspiration from classical artists is one of the reasons his songs are so brilliant. Especially with "Lord Is It Mine" I can imagine it in terms of tension, chord connections and song structure. There are also versions in which Roger is also accompanied by a synphony orchestra - a sign that he likes classical music as I think.
