It's also important to note that "Lord of the Flies" is a direct translation of "Beelzebub" so the destruction of the pig's head acts as the futile attempt to remove sin from the world - Christ's death and redemption of the world didn't remove sin - through the attempted destruction of Satan. Furthering this point, Simons murder acts as a direct comparison of the betrayal by Judas (through the acts of Ralph) and that of Simon Peter(through the acts of Ralph, Piggy and "Samneric"). The murder also presents how Christ was betrayed through the boys thinking that Simon is the beast. This shows the evil that is placed upon Simon as a character, mirroring the evil that the pharisees put on Jesus to justify putting him to death.

Romans 5:8 while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Questionable on the first portion, but definite yes to the latter: Both were seen as evil by their own people and killed. I would also add that the boys did not know who they were killing and likewise Jesus prays "Father forgive them, they know not what they do." Thank you

Perhaps the existence, and death, of Simon is there to illustrate that his morals could not save him nor the other boys which highlights that their are limitations to morality and rationality?

That is a high low vocabulary, you’ve done the Adverb, and Adjective, and you understand step by Step (You’ve seemed that you’ve earned a good job, and your language and punctuation, is all correct to me, please me later, I’ve needed this, it was for my life to envelope more details for my homework, however, in the other first hand, I appreciate it a lot, you’ve what you can do, but, thank you for your effort’s and you’ve done a lot of work for us.

To put it very simply, to me Simon seemed like a poet, Ralph a scientist, Piggy a historian, and Jack an actor. But thanks for your thought-provoking analyses!

Agreed. I think Golding could've (probably should've) done better to portray Simon's Christ-ness. I'm sure he wanted to be subtle, but as the reader I naturally came to the conclusion that he was more of a potential poet because of his.... I don't know.... William Wordsworth moment at the end of chapter 3 in nature.

religion is a common part of people. I feel it was included so that that part of society was covered. adding one character's philosophical insite into the situation.
