There'll be 3 Elven rings, 7 Dwarven rings, 9 rings for Men (later Nazgul), and Sauron's The One Ring. The Elven rings and their wearers are: *Narya* (the Ring of Fire, red ruby stone) -> _High-King Gil-galad of Lindon_ -> _Cirdan the Shipwright_ -> _Gandalf the Grey/White_ *Nenya* (the Ring of Water, clear adamant stone) -> _Lady Galadriel of Lórien_ *Vilya* (the Ring of Air, blue sapphire stone) -> _High-King Gil-galad of Lindon_ -> _Lord Elrond Peredhel of Rivendell_

10:16 you asking how did Celebrimbor not figured it out. He knows about alloying but he thinks it will weaken the mithril, because he has one way of thinking about it coming from his privileged background of always working with the best. BUT Halbrand's suggestion would come from someone who didn't have everything at his disposal. Hence the "gift". Also, I called Halbrand's as Sauron since eps. 3. BUT I was still not certain until eps. 6, the exchange with Adar was the nailed.

I agree, that's what I thought too, that he is used to purity and good quality materials so he never considered "alternative" options like this

This is one of the only parts I couldn't buy. Celebrimbor is second only to Feanor in his craft. He definitely wouldn't need to be told about combining ores to strengthen them. I feel like they could have done a better job there. The gift is a wink to those in the audience who knew that Sauron came to Eregion in the guise of Annatar, the Lord of Gifts.

It could also be that since the Harfoots helped the first Istar (the Stranger) that fell from the sky, there could be a feeling of gratitude some wizards may have to the Harfoots which later become Hobbits.

No actually Sauron never cared for Galadriel in that scene on the Raft hallucination. That's just part of the socio-psychopathic nature of what Sauron does lol he is a Master deceiver . He was just trying to take her over as an ally . When you're a powerful Maiar , why take a powerful elf out so easily and dispose of them , when you can use them for access , partnership etc ? That's his niche that got him recruited as Morgoths greatest lieutenant ( along with shape Shifter powers and of course as a master crafter that learnt from Aule himself). The wanting of Order , which is what really corrupted Sauron the most when he was good person , Morgoth used the advantage of that to lure him into his service . The Second Age and practically this show will be showing just him at his greatest. The time of why many people feared him here and in the Third Age. Mixture of magic , strength, knowledge, he was just incredible at what he did lol manipulation of disguises , forcing hallucinations onto people like the one you saw with Galadriel and how he got inside her head ( he's done that in the First Age as well, caused arguments in different kingdoms because of forced hallucinations into people, caused certain people to hate eachother for no reason lol ) you'll see how many kingdoms and famous charecters deaths he'll be causing later lol Edit : also to top it off , forgot to mention Charlie Vickers, the actor that plays Halbrand, also confirmed that their was no romance going on with them , it was meant to be a form of dominance, Manipulation, deceiving etc . Wanting to force her on his side to use her .

The timeline in this show is in Second Age, around 3000 years before The Hobbit and The Lord of the Ring. This was before the last battle of the alliance of Men and Elves against Sauron, where Elendil died at the hand of Sauron, and Ilsidur cut Sauron's hands and being corrupted by the ring at the end of the war. Ilsidur died during the ambush after the ring abandon him. Gandalf was not part of the Second Age era, as the highest wizard at that time is Saruman the White.

Great reaction! Great finale! Great season! 36:31 Amazon acquired the rights to the entire contents of The Lord of the Rings novel, meaning they can use Gandalf's name. 49:56 I advice you not to read the books if the way she speaks made you cringe. So many characters in the books speak metaphorically/figuratively 😅

Now that his Halbrand cover is blown and Sauron is now revealed to Galadriel. Sauron will now shape shift into Annatar. I think the order of ring creation follows the verse, 3 Rings for the Elven Kings, then 7 for the dwarves and then 9 for mortal men and then the Last ring is the one Ring.

Amazon doesn't have the rights to Annatar. That's the whole reason they created Halbrand.

From yesterday's New York Times interview with the actor Charlie Vickers (portraying Halbrand / Sauron): Q: What’s the plan going forward, given that Sauron is a shape-shifter? A: There are a lot of twists and turns coming with the character of Sauron. We know that [his disguise as] Annatar is such a massive part of this world, and the prospect of that is really exciting to me. I can’t say much more than that.

They only started filming the second season this month, not back-to-back like they did with the LOTR movies. And because this high-end production takes a lot of time with all the CGI and special effects plus orchestral music (production of season 1 took over two years), the expected release of season 2 will -- unfortunately -- likely only be in 2024.

The wizard isn't necessarily Gandalf . They use Gandalf characteristics because he is familiar to casual fans of movies. Those could be general wizard-like. There are the blue wizards which went to Ruhn. That's where those stars are and where he's heading. What about Tillion? That's an option too.

I actually really believe Sauron/Mairon wanting to repair Middle Earth but in a way only he likes and sees as right/ideal. And bcz he can't understand the view of the others and the others don't understand him, he's falling to the dark side again and sealing his doom. In this way he reminds me about Anakin.

Since they don't have the right to use material from Simarilion they couldn't use Saurons fair elven form Annatar, who tricked Celebrimbor into making the rings (9 for mortal men, 7 for the dwarves). So they just named him Halbrand in the show instead. I believe the elven rings were made after and in secret.

@@PeverellTheThird The elven rings were made after the 16 rings, and without Sauron's presence, so he never touched them. When Sauron made the One ring he bound the 16 rings to his One. For Sauron to corrupt the three elven rings, he had to touch them. The very moment Sauron put on the One ring the elves could feel it, so they took theirs off, and they were hidden from him.

A modern comedic tragedy, Mor"mazon" has equavalently sacked the literary Osgiliath equivalent of Professor Tolkien's lore and story with season one, it is a descration of "history of the elvish speaking tongues..Shall we now sit around the fire and muse sadly on Rings of Power? Our position, "Exsurge Tolkien" (published 25 March 22, and available for review on our channel), remains the most comprehensive analysis (and foreshadowed) of the Anti-Tolkien agenda of the ROP enterprise as declared by the showrunner's own words. We now see what the corporate machine theyocracy has wrought on Professor Tolkien's legacy: heresy, catastrophe, and disaster. Even the most ardent ROP supporters have weighed the show on the scales and found it wanting, "Auta i lóme" and "Aurë entuluva."

If you thought it was so bad, why an earth would any rational being keep watching, let alone make comments about a 2nd season. The irrationality of that is staggering. 2nd Amazon doesn't give a rats ass if you like it. If you hate watch it, then you're doing them a favor and giving them literally no reason to change a single thing. Again seems like the act of someone utterly without reason. If you dislike let alone hate something the best and most rational way of making your point (as a consumer) is to wash your hands of it, and never waste another moment of your life on it.
