@@kimikodickerson3902 Three reasons. One this song is sampled from a record by the group Steely Dan, and Steely Dan took 100% publishing and writing credit for this song so they never get paid for it, even if it's aired in movies, TV, etc. Steely Dan raped them. Two Peter said in an interview that they rode the momentum of song for too long and by the time their album was released it flopped, and afterwards their record label (Columbia) turned their backs on them. That and the Steely Dan situation made them bitter. Three Lord Tariq & Peter Gunz were affiliated with a Bronx street legend named Pistol Pete and his crew Sex, Money, Murder. S.M.M. was taken down by the feds in 1998 and Tariq made a few references to Pistol Pete on the album. He even made a song dedicated to him which was used in court during the SMM trial. Columbia Records wanted nothing to do with them. That's why they disappeared by the end of 1998
