I have my love and our love is exactly like this relationship. I’m Ian and she’s Mickey. We’re both gay, and we both are like the characters in some ways. I really relate to Ian in the mental health (manic depression) aspect and she’s like Mickey where she comes from a very rough family and she deals with a lot of anger and gets into trouble like Mickey does. She’s also very very strong, like Mickey. Our love is something I don’t know if I’ll ever let go of. it’s the most painful thing I’ve experienced. It’s also the most beautiful. I feel so f*cking grateful to have her, but sometimes I feel like im dying when we’re not okay (which is often because we both have major issues). The chemistry is like Mickey and Ian’s. I don’t think I’ll ever find love like this again. But maybe that’s for the best. She will always be my person . Even if we aren’t together.

Ribs always reminds me of sitting in the back of a taxi at 2 am driving through this city in Portugal and staring out the back window towards the street lights and neon signs. Whenever I hear it I feel the same as I did on that day and it's both scary and amazing how I can feel a 3 minute moment from 3 years ago just by turning on this song.

Sten it reminds me of one time when I was walking down this path in a forest with my family, we were walking around and I ended up leading the way, it felt great outside and I was wearing my favorite out fit. I remember the feeling of the wind and how it felt to choose the path we went down.

I always picture a teenager with a young adult. The adult is having a difficult time dealing with the fact they don't know what they want to do in life and have no direction. I always remember walking around the streets of my hometown at midnight in the cold months of January and February. I was 19 and had dropped out of my first college (would go on to continue university abroad about a year later) and was feeling somewhat lost in life. So I wandered the streets late at night, singing along to this album which had so many songs that struck a chord with me. But this song especially means a lot to me because of the memory of "reeling through the midnight streets" on my own.

I first listened to Ribs (and the Pure Heroine album itself) when I was 12 years old. I didn't understand the lyrics then, but I was drawn to its sound, drunk on it almost. I loved the entire Pure Heroine album and I listened to it continually. I'm 19 now, and nearing the end of my teenage years, and I feel like there are thousands of things teens do that I never got the chance to do as a teenager. I've never snuck out of the house, never had my first kiss, never been asked out nor have I ever asked anyone out. I can't help but feel left out and hopeless because of it. And so, I constantly find myself coming back to this album with a newfound appreciation for its lyricism and sound which helps me feel the colors and emotions of all the things I never got a chance to do as a teen.

Idk if I'm just stoned and loney af right now but in the context of a gay relationship the song makes sense. "You're the only friend I need/we laugh until our ribs get tough/but that will never be enough" sounds like a direct reference to gay marriage, as in, intolerant political not allowing gay marriage despite gay relationships being no more harmful than heterosexual ones.

The drink you spilt all over me 'Lover's Spit' left on repeat My mom and dad let me stay home It drives you crazy, getting old We can talk it so good We can make it so divine We can talk it good How you wish it would be all the time The drink you spilt all over me 'Lover's Spit' left on repeat My mom and dad let me stay home It drives you crazy, getting old The drink you spilt all over me 'Lover's Spit' left on repeat My mom and dad let me stay home It drives you crazy, getting old This dream isn't feeling sweet We're reeling through the midnight streets And I've never felt more alone It feels so scary, getting old We can talk it so good We can make it so divine We can talk it good How you wish it would be all the time This dream isn't feeling sweet We're reeling through the midnight streets And I've never felt more alone It feels so scary, getting old This dream isn't feeling sweet We're reeling through the midnight streets And I've never felt more alone It feels so scary, getting old I want 'em back (I want 'em back) The minds we had (the minds we had) How all the thoughts (how all the thoughts) Moved 'round our heads (moved 'round our heads) I want 'em back (I want 'em back) The minds we had (the minds we had) It's not enough to feel the lack I want 'em back, I want 'em back, I want 'em You're the only friend I need Sharing beds like little kids Laughing 'til our ribs get tough But that will never be enough You're the only friend I need Sharing beds like little kids Laughing 'til our ribs get tough But that will never be enough

when she says "you're the only friend I need" my whole heart melted and goosebumps just EVERYWHERE. What an excellent video. You had me legitimately sobbing at the "I want him back, I want him back" bit. FUCK. I forgot how much I loved mickey.

This song has always struck a personal cord in me. I moved out of my homecountry a year ago and this song reminds me of all the things i used to do with my ex boyfriend and my group of friends. Walk in the middle of the night through lonely streets, drinking in the stairs on one of my friend's apartment complex, smoking cigarettes in a lonely highway at midnight with my best friend in the middle of the city. I was not aware emigrating will be so hard and lonely. One day i was saying good bye to my mom and watching her cry, i am her youngest son, my older brother had already fled the country in 2016, and the next i was already in a new country, paying rent, bills, working and being indepedent. I am only 20 years old and i fell as though i've lived way more than that. I deeply miss my friends and the life i had before, but i cannot go back to them. This song will forever remind of those years.

I just wanted to thank you, dear editor of this video. I come back to this video often. It's what got me into Shameless as a series. I found this video and immediately needed to know everything about this show ASAP. I spoiled the Mickey and Ian storyline for myself because I never thought I'd actually watch it; then last year my friend told me how good it was and I watched 10 seasons in a little over a month :/ I fell in love with its comedy but also its drama and storytelling, and while I love the Gallagher shenanigans, the darker seasons 4 and 5 will always be my favourites. My friends and I fawn over this video, just calling it "The Ribs Video", and share it with new friends who want to watch Shameless. We always return to this, because of how expertly a gay relationship is portrayed, because of how beautiful the editing it, because of how emotional the songs makes us because of this damn video, and because Shameless means so much to us. So thank you for this masterpiece.

So let me tell you, i’m a big fan of Lorde and this is my favorite song from her. I watched your clip like a couple of months ago but didn’t finished it since i wasn’t aware of the tv series, if it was on air or something. So i decided to give it a try only to get more context of the guys on your video, i really didn’t wanted to watch your whole clip until i finished the series. Today finished season 7 and came back here, boy, i’m in a rollercoaster of feelings ‘cause your video is awesome in so many ways, can’t stop crying ‘cause of the show, Lorde, and the series. Really really thank you

I’m a girl, and I have a girlfriend. This song makes me think of all the things I want to do with her. There’s an old abandoned train near her house and I’m thinking of us sitting on top of it, holding hands, and watching the sunset (there’s a perfect view of the sky from up there). I’m imagining us going for a walk and laughing about random dumb things. I’m imagining us cuddling and what our first kiss will be like and where we’ll be. I want to run through the rain with her and get completely and utterly soaked. I love her. Edit: well. School started - my girlfriend and I go to a Christian private school where it’s considered “sin” to be gay (even though the faculty does not give a flying fuck). I act obnoxiously gay with my straight friends and literally nobody cares. But, she (my girlfriend) was paranoid, and she completely ghosted me both online and at school. I tried to hold on to the relationship but it just didn’t work. I fell out of love and broke up with her. I’m salty because as soon as I ended things, she immediately became active in group chats and on social media again and suddenly she was just,, everywhere,,, at school. So yeah. I’m mad. But I’m not sad and I don’t regret ending things I guess, edit 2: we did get to do the things I wanted to do in my original comment. Just in case anyone was wondering. Not that it matters now, but still

@anaandia21117 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I found it on Netflix and it looks like a comedy. The plot says that the father is alcoholic and actually I thought that I would find a serie with a tumblr style or something like that. That's why I thought that I hadn't found it.

Ana Andía its a drama/comedy. I’m sure if you watch it you’ll enjoy it. If you’re only looking for the gay parts bc of the video then just search up ian/Mickey gay scenes. The series is actually good from seasons 1-4, I’d suggest atleast giving it a try
