Fun fact, this song is for our military and how their families sacrifice so much for our freedom. “They won’t dance until we live city’s / you’ll never see on screen / not very pretty but we show them how to run free”. “And you know, we’re on each other’s team”. Our military and their families go through so much for us to have a chance at a better life. Don’t sell America short, we are better than socialism

Wait 'til you're announced We've not yet lost all our graces The hounds will stay in chains Look upon Your Greatness and she'll send the call out (Send the call out) Call all the ladies out They're in their finery A hundred jewels on throats A hundred jewels between teeth Now bring my boys in Their skin in craters like the moon The moon we love like a brother, while he glows through the room Dancin' around the lies we tell Dancin' around big eyes as well Even the comatose they don't dance and tell We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team I'm kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air, so there So all the cups got broke shards beneath our feet but it wasn't my fault And everyone's competing for a love they won't receive 'Cause what this palace wants is release We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team I'm kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air So there I'm kinda older than I was when I revelled without a care So there We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team We're on each other's team And you know, we're on each other's team We're on each other's team And you know, and you know, and you know

this song makes me cry. lorde is genius, she's trying to explain the real world through her experiences in real-world. we're on each other's team and we live in ruins of a palace within our dreams, this means even though our team is different, we still have connections through our dreams and this represent an utopia(a palace), but reality is the experience. so she calls out everyone.

I think Lorde is the only artist whose lyrics compel me to try to understand because I know that it has good message. I agree so much. Avril is an amazing singer and my favorite... i didn't think there could be another female artist that i could relate and love the style of and ALL of their songs so much until i came across Lorde! Definitely my favorite new female singer and someone i will always be looking forward too! The style of her music is awesome and can't wait to see what else she's got in the future

For those Who don't know, this is the song used in a Channel announcement, where Marion Cotillard dances while the video runs, the fragment is the chorus, is amazing

Lyrics Wait 'til you’re announced We’ve not yet lost all our graces The hounds will stay in chains Look upon your greatness That you’ll send the call out (Send the call out [15x]) Call all the ladies out They’re in their finery A hundred jewels on throats A hundred jewels between teeth Now bring my boys in Their skin in craters like the moon The moon we love like a brother, while he glows through the room Dancin' around the lies we tell Dancin' around big eyes as well Even the comatose they don’t dance and tell [Chorus] We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team I'm kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air, so there So all the cups got broke shards beneath our feet but it wasn’t my fault And everyone’s competing for a love they won't receive 'Cause what this palace wants is release [Chorus] We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team I’m kind of over getting told to throw my hands up in the air So there I’m kinda older than I was when I revelled without a care So there [Chorus] We live in cities you'll never see on screen Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things Living in ruins of a palace within my dreams And you know, we're on each other's team We're on each other's team And you know, we're on each other's team We're on each other's team And you know, and you know, and you know

She's Awesome! Sad, the losers who have to put down the successful to trying to make their pathetic lives have meaning. If you don't like Lorde that's fine, just find someone you do like and have fun!

Dude 2013 was such a great year . Maybe just because I was younger and in elementary school, but back then people were less fake, music was better, and true friends weren’t as hard to find .

I love this song because she’s like “you won’t find love until you release your demons. Our worlds aren’t very pretty, but we know how to run them, and why fight? We’re on the same team. We’re all broken and hurting.”

This song gives me inspiration and sadness at the same time. This song reminds me of everyone being afraid to be who they are because when she sings "cause what This palace wants, is release."
