This song reminds me of my parents and when I was little. My mom always went partying while my dad was working really hard at his job. My mom was a drug addict, she drank and smoked, even when I was in her womb. My dad came home and decided he has had enough, so he told my mom that he was gonna take me away, somewhere safer with better people to take care of me. My mom got really upset, grabbed a knife and stabbed my dad in the arm. My mom then went to jail for a bit. Later on, my dad also started taking drugs and started to drink. He gave me to my grandparents to take care of me, and without her, my life would be horrible. And now my father lives on his own. *How do I know this? My grandma told me the whole thing.*

I think about a time I never got to experience, a moment in history I think about often. I never got to see my family all together, my father laughing, my mother smiling, my siblings playing, when they were all a family. I can only dream and fantasie the days where this was true. The people I know now are very broken individuals who no longer expect to see each other’s face, maybe once in a while I get to see two of them functioning in the same place.
