That would be cool. What's cooler than cool, is if we deployed farming practices that removed the reliance of farmers on the people farmers are beholden to, the machinery manufacturers. If farming were done in a way that removed the need for machinery. Maybe regenerative no dig farming is a way to go. I dunno, I'm just a city slicker that would rather be on a farm earning my place and doing it for a local community instead of some rich prick that only cares for money and power, like Bill Gates or John Deere.

Not sure where you're getting your info from, but that little 3 row corn harvester does not require a 240+ hp tractor, I can assure you... The tractor they're using in your video is probably around 35-40 hp.
@roijoi69633 жыл бұрын
The correct number is probably 24hp. We used to pull a 4-row corn picker with a 35hp tractor. Corn pickers require very little power because the corn isn't shelled, it's just pulled off the stalk and binned. In the US corn pickers gave way to combines, which DO shell corn, in the early & mid 1960s.

1) So the Chinya corn harvester @15:50 has an engine with *ABOVE* 240 hp, or am I wrong??? 2) Peat drainage @19:34 is become *highly controversial* in Norway due to release of stored CO2. Even the build of green house friendly wind turbine parks have been stopped as the developer hasn't factored in the gas release from the supply roads over peat areas.
@LordGizmo3 жыл бұрын
1) That's unlikely, such a tractor likely wouldn't need that much power. That being said, we aren't sure which tractor is shown. 2) We were not expressing support or disapproval of the peat drainage method, merely showing off a machine we thought was impressive looking. We hope we didn't cause any offense.

In today's world with billions of hungry people, I don't know how it would even be possible to go back to the 'local farmer' model. But...those who complain about a mechanical farm industry that removes that 'local farmer'...think about that situation as it correlates to Big Government where us voters are so far removed from the politicians running the Federal Government. Makes the point that you should support local government and state's rights...as the Founding Fathers intended. Otherwise, we are on our way to Soylent Green.

You can't be serious. Did you listen to the guy? The stuff he says is just stupid. For example that the tractor has a 12 inch display. That's nothing special. That's not worth mentioning. I guess all he does is open Google, type in the machine and than he reads the first sentence that Google is showing.
@Jehty_3 жыл бұрын
Or another example: The first clip. He says "woodwork creates a lot of dust and mess" And then he show a firewood cutting machine. Tell me how those two things fit together. It's not like anyone would cut firewood in his workshop. You do that kind of work outside. Like the clip is showing.
@911axe3 жыл бұрын
@@Jehty_ seems like a decent put together video to me. Intros to various machinery, with intro info. If it was a full on instruction right down to servicing the zerk's, wouldn't that be an owners manual. Also regarding your other comment on the wood splitting machine, yes I agree, considering the size of this particular splitter it would be used outside but many smaller splitters are certainly used inside and do make quite a mess. It's constant cleanup from my electric wood splitter.
