Basically, the first rule of that game was to never keep cattle. If you didn't keep cattle, having castles and lots of bows was easy because of all the excess labour for most of the year.

Little known fact - After King Hammy became lord of the realm, the people were so grateful that they named the King's signature feast after him - the Hammy Burger. Over time, this was shortened to just "hamburger". Otherwise, why wouldn't it be called a "beefburger"? It's really the only thing that makes sense.
