I know it's Alpha, so things aren't entirely clear but from what people have gathered we actually know why Kul Tiras isn't a part of the Alliance any longer. It isn't anything to do with the Cataclysm, at least it hasn't been mentioned yet. Also it doesn't seem when Jaina disappeared that she actually went to Kul Tiras. She was MIA for Legion, at least from what we know so far. Due to Jaina allowing the Horde to kill her father, Katherine saw this act treachery and pulled her kingdom from the Alliance. This is confirmed when you go to Kul Tiras. When you and Jaina sail to Kul Tiras we learn, for the first time by the King's request, our play character is thrown into jail and Jaina is exiled by Katherine's hand. The reason the Kul Tiras isn't a part of the Alliance anymore is due to the actions of Jaina Warcraft III, which would make sense -- even if Jaina was in the right to allow what happened to happen.
